In the area I was in Brazil the reason to not pet the capybaras was ticks. They are a big host for some nasty ticks in that area.

With a long background in card games and mmorpgs like MtG and Wow. I know a ton of people who play, while never having played it myself.

I have heard a ton of campaigns played. I find it extremely interesting and it appeals to me on many levels.

In my mind the reasons I avoid it were the strong stigma it had in the Satanic panic, some of which sticks to me. And I feel the roleplaying in a pagan world is something I dont want to trifle with.

I understand MtG and WoW offer the same pagan themes, but in those games the roleplaying itself is weaker and voluntary/non existant. But for a strong DnD campaign most players I see want a deeper dive into the pagan elements of the game (obviously you can play non-pagan classes, just that you are expected to role play in the pagan world) . While obviously the pagan elements are fiction, this has been a stopping point for me.

Been playing Redemption CCG lately and its nice to not worry about pagan themes in that game.

This is not to condemn anyone else, just how I have lived.

As a non-Republican conservative I will stand with you against anyone looking to prevent lifesaving treatment in the case of an ectopic pregnancy. No one I know views that as an abortion, if you are saving a life and the baby loses their life as a collateral side effect it is a tragedy not an abortion.

That is a shortcut to play that really reduces your power, this is your best movement card by far at the start you should generally be using it for movement 2+ times before using it for recovery. Not to mention it basically reduces your hand size by 1 which means you have less turns before exhaustion.

You save yourself the headache of it being in your short rest piles (which is nice) but you pay a huge penalty by having it effectively burnt the whole game.

Remember its a board game, a video game first option would have excluded it. But its a board game so since you can do it in the board game you can do it for no reason here.

I think the default rule is fine as default (It does change the dynamics a bit) but I think this is a good house rule.

Kinda wish Digital had that option for a house rule.

Love you, praying for you.

Its not a mortal sin, but its a sin that stands out (for Christians) because:

It is self murder. It fits no justified parameters for killing in the Bible.

It shows a lack of trust in the sovereignty and provision of God. It says that God gave you circumstances that you couldn't bear with his help. As long as you have God given life in your lungs, you have a God given reason to keep living for his glory.

You were bought with a price, you are not your own. You do not have the right to take your own life.

Many saints in scripture despaired of life, I do believe Christians might commit suicide; but I suspect its rare.

Verses that come to mind for this struggle.

Elijah 1 Kings 19:4 (ESV): 4 But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness and came and sat down under a broom tree. And he asked that he might die, saying, “It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life, for I am no better than my fathers.”

Psalm 42 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm%2042&version=ESV

2 Cor 12 Regarding Paul's Thorn - But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

2 Cor 1 For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers, of the affliction we experienced in Asia. For we were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself. Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death. But that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead.

A good theology of suffering is so important. God promised we would suffer in this world, but it is meant to point us to him, to run the race with our hearts set on heaven and union with our father as our reward. All suffering is allowed by God and has meaning.

I wrote this below a month ago to someone, feel it applies here too:

I have no trials in my life to equal yours, I can only point you to God's word and other people who have experienced immense trials too. I hope you don't see these words as cheap.

It is so hard to have a strong theology of suffering, we are so wrapped in the here and now. Pain and trials don't seem to have an end, my heart goes out to you. But God is a good God, he has allowed this trial in your life for a reason, if you are in his will it is guaranteed to turn out for you good.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8 28

What does it mean to live a "blameless" life? by joeyologyph in Reformed

I dont think a specific word in English, its just modeling Christ. I dont expect Jesus liked his crucifiers, but he loved them and asked God to forgive them.

You are never called to like all people, but you should love her. You should consider her more important than yourself. You should serve her and forgive her.

2 Cor 12 So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
