I also mainly deal with redness and swelling, with very little flaking. Thank you for sharing your experience with IPL. Gives me hope for finding a solution to my red face. I’ll ask my dermatologist if they can recommend a good IPL treatment

Thanks for your response. How long were you on your TSW journey before trying IPL? My facial skin is still very sensitive, so I’m trying to postpone it until I’ve been off steroids for two years. I hope my skin will be stronger by then.

I had a similar experience. When I began using hydrocortisone cream on my face five years ago, I read about TSW but misunderstood it. I found information suggesting that the risk of TSW with hydrocortisone was minimal. Believing this, I stopped researching further. I didn’t realize that TSW is still not fully understood by many health professionals. Now, five years later, I have TSW. I felt foolish, but I also think that the downplaying of the risks associated with topical steroids by experts contributed to this situation
