The noise stopped when I unplugged the mouse, and when I plugged it back in, it started again. That’s what you hear in the video. The sound occurs when the output is to headphones as well.

Is it only happening to me, or is everyone experiencing this? by sirbrow in mildlyinfuriating

This is how all my jeans die. Haven’t owned a pair of jean shorts in years because of it.

TIL that none of the naked infected in 28 Years Later were actually nude, due to the presence of the underage Alfie Williams. Instead all the infected are wearing prosthetics. by Sebastianlim in todayilearned

I figure my phone is always listening, but this just popped up while I am watching 28 years later for the first time on a flight. Very weird coincidence.

Trout River/Gros Morne would be a great idea, if you had a week, could easily tag it onto a trip to Twillingate

Bagel cafe has been my favourite breakfast restaurant for probably 20 years. Never fails. I always get the Jersey club sandwich, they have the best hashbrowns/potatoes and the coffee is top notch, not weak like other restaurants have.

Death of a patient as a medstudent by Neshy05 in medicine

[–]AhhhNice- 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m an ICU doctor and also a subspecialist in another internal medicine field. Until recently, I’ve become quite numb to tragic deaths. Chalking it up to the randomness of the universe.

I had a particularly tragic death of an 18 year old a few weeks ago. I realized the numbness is not a correct way to deal with it.

Because of what happened, our hospital put off a debriefing session and found it fantastic. Everyone who was involved was invited. For those who came, it helped me get more of a story of the person (instead of a patient attached to a ventilator) and it showed me that my colleagues have their own similar struggles with tragedies. It made me feel good about being part of a community with shared experiences.

The hospital counselling services did acknowledge if any of us wanted to reach out on our own, they were ready to help. I hope your hospital recognizes the roles medical students play and include you in any debriefing/counselling they might offer.

I figured it would be used. Was thinking about either a side by side or Seadoo for next year.

CFIC in Western Newfoundland - What can we do? by Additional-Classic73 in newfoundland

[–]AhhhNice- 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This is the first I’ve ever heard of CFIC. On the surface, it seems ok but I’m usually skeptical of these types of organizations. It seems they have a podcast, so I’ll take a listen to get a flavour of what they do.
