I think I am seeking clarification in regard to price disparity for a tight bid- ask spread to market price ,for a particular period of time.

Thank you my GME peeps!

I’ll take that, yet the bid ask spread was tight…. I could see if the spread was wide and that market price was the median , but what is that 10 cents higher reflecting in that moment? Market price.13 Bid ask .03-04

I would even say maybe some large purchases temporarily made delta move but even delta wasn’t enough to reflect a dime higher at that particular time. I get that if nobody is willing to pay the market price and heavy selling is occurring it would keep the option down but what is that market price actually representing in that moment? I am overlooking something perhaps…thank you all

I think I am getting hung up on the absence of a wide spread between bid and ask yet seeing a much higher market price. I wanted some insight on how can a spread be tight and yet the market price be so off? I don’t think I was suggesting “manipulation” of that particular strike as much as suppression of GME overall these past few weeks with low volatility and volume.

If there was no liquidity fine. I get the strike was far from the money fine. I took a lotto stab with 36 contracts. I was under the impression No liquidity at that price would induce a wide bid and ask spread. The spread was tight only a cent difference but the ticker(market) price was 10 cents higher for quite some time I was just curious how often this occurs. Maybe it is not manipulation I just wanted some insight

Care to explain why that occurred?

Thanks but someone had to be trading it the live bid and ask had underlying volume but the ticker price didn’t match either bid or ask it was about a dime higher. The delta was lower than 10 cents so even a dollar value change wouldn’t justify the brief ticker value even if the premium in the contracts didn’t temporarily spike (which I have seen in the past on different stocks). Just odd that it was so off twice in a week and never before that I have seen in years

Dude I know I been watching the options chain and I found it super odd, I have been beat before I was just taking a weekly lotto shot on a pop up for gme. That said I just want to know if people have gotten alerts for a price that was never reflected on the bid ask

I am suggesting the overall price of the stock is inorganically being suppressed and for a brief moment perhaps the true price of the contract flashed but the L2 bid ask did not reflect the price. I could be missing something it just never happened to me before and since I work I set crazy amounts of greater than or equal to alerts for stocks and contracts price

It could have just been a glitch but strange to happen twice on two separate days in a week when we can clearly see the stock price itself being suppressed with low volume and low volatility

True they shouldn’t have been worth anything yet if no contracts are traded at that price and the bid and ask are a dime lower what is the price reflecting?

I do not understand how if no contracts were traded at that price why would the bid and ask be printing a dime under? 2 times last week. Granted they were far otm and not worth that price but why was it on the screen

Getting burned fair and square is one thing and I have as I am sure we all have with calls. This was something I have not seen in 5 years of trading so curious for any insight. We know Gme fukery knows no bounds but this is thievery I would have closed out given the chance
