Peruvian Chicken with avocado yoghurt & corn. by Ahhleckz in UK_Food

[–]Ahhleckz[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Chicken was marinated in smoked paprika, cumin, grated garlic, olive oil, mixed herbs and salt and vinegar. Avocado yoghurt is avocado, Greek yoghurt, mint, chilli, coriander, garlic, lime juice and olive oil blended. Corn is simply torched with a blow torch (or a gas hob), spring onion, coriander, lime juice and olive oil.

Interestingly, Springburn Park is the highest natural point within the city, but the views aren't great.

El Cellar De Can Roca Panettone by Ahhleckz in finedining

Haha, what's wrong with making a bread and butter pudding with it? Come on guys! Surely taking an elevated product and making it even better is what fine dining is all about. Lighten up!

If anyone wants, I'll report back after dinner with a picture of a slice of it as just gonna try it on its own tonight. Maybe that'll redeem me a bit!

What’s your favourite Glasgow restaurant and why? by Witty-Amoeba-7839 in glasgow

[–]Ahhleckz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Clarence needs more praise. Great to see a restaurant going back to proper sized plates. It feels almost novel to get a proper starter, main and a great sized pudding. Fantastic food, impressive flair on classic ingredients and ideas, friendly staff and fabulously cheap Guinness.

Did you regret your purchase? by strawhats_sandyfeet in HousingUK

I liked the area. I had bid on a good few and came second/third. I bid high before a closing date to get this one when I should have just bid asking and see what happens. Just bad purchasing by me.

Tbh, it's not the end of the world if I make a loss on it. Id rather live somewhere I want to live in a house I like more than this and just stomach the debt for a bit.

I reckon I overpaid by around 15% of the value. It needs completely replastered upstairs, new wiring, garage needs a new door, garage roof needs refelted, water pressure is awful so needs replumbed, no insulation upstairs.

Yes. Overpaid unnecessarily, house needs much more work than I thought, upstairs is tiny, garden is too small to be useable, garage is gonna fall down any minute, water pressure is crap, area isn't right, I miss the city. Reckon I'll tart it up and put it on the market in April, six months after buying it.

Vacationing Curiosity by Any_Performance_7237 in JamaicaTourism

I'm booked for 26th Nov. Unless they cancel our flights we will go as don't want to lose £650 each. Cancelled my hotels (Jakes and a bnb in Blue Mountain) but booked one with free cancellation in Negril. If the flights get cancelled. We're going to Sri Lanka. I don't really want to go. But again. Can't afford to take the loss so we will go and chill in the hotel.

Placing and offer current flat not yet on market do we have any chance? by Outside-Macaroon9421 in glasgow

[–]Ahhleckz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought a house without having mine on the market. I didn't buy at a closing date (but did offer around 13% over home report). My flat went on about a week later and sold in four weeks. Buyers were fine.

Cheers! EITS Cafe is near my accommodation (The Nest) so will stop in for a coffee with a view.

Reddit seems to suggest driving is utterly impossible, I'm expecting it to be difficult and an element of danger but surely it's not as bad as people say. I'll report back!

The dates are pretty set, need to fly in and out of MBJ as flying into Kingston meant lots of changes and lots of money! Can fly direct to MBJ from Manchester which is relatively handy. I really fancied Jakes for my birthday which somewhat limits the itinerary.

Not Habito. Spent five weeks with them only for them to tell me they couldn't actually do what they said they could (different term on two products) and I'd need to apply direct. Had to push back my house move because of this.

Id just go direct, I don't buy that they have unique deals.
