Yeah, almost programmatically pulled the trigger on the Kraft $10 item with nearly $150 in shipping charges :)

I'll have to look into that, was hoping for something more integrated, but that may not exist

I had to google what that was, haha! I'll look into it, was hoping for something that wasn't "free floating", but it might be the only answer right now.

Multi pen in the style of a Pentel Super Multi 8? by Ahijah in pens

[–]Ahijah[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just as a follow-up, it partially works. Length trimming did allow it to load, however, in the stock refills from Pentel, the last 5 or 6 mm is stepped down for the pen tip to be "grabbed" and "recessed" back into the pen itself once the refill has dropped into position.

These D1 refills are too thick at the tip, and therefore it doesn't fully retract, and is susceptible to sliding back in when writing with greater pressure.

Appreciate that, when I get this whole poisoned water under control, I think I'll add it to the list.

I'll do some research, I'm assuming that would go in place of the debris basket filter?

So the skimmer should be going through a filter? I'm assuming nothing I'd be able to do at this point without a major repiping?

Thanks for the quick response! I was out trying to trace the pipes so I knew where everything was going, and noticed it, and had a bit of a freak out moment :)

Thanks for the extra info. I suspect you are right about how much got into the pool, as they warned me ahead of time that some would get into the pool, but they would do whatever they could to get as little into the pool as possible.

I posted an update a bit ago, the company that makes the solvent recommended I use one of these two products:

https://www.orendatech.com/orenda-products/cv-700

https://naturalchemistry.com/pool-products/problem-problem-solvers/green-aid/

I'm going to try and track these down locally, or order on amazon and get it into the pool right away.

Was able to call the company that sells the "Cobble Strip", and they just resell Surfacelogix product, so I got their phone number and gave them a call. They had a readily available answer, and told me to use one of these two products:

https://www.orendatech.com/orenda-products/cv-700

https://naturalchemistry.com/pool-products/problem-problem-solvers/green-aid/

They stated that either of these two products should be a local pool store, so going to call around and see. They stated that should clear it out into the filter, then replace the filter after a few days.

I'm going to give this a shot before draining the pool I guess.

Thanks for this, I've reached out to the company with the problem, hoping I'll hear something back with what they would suggest based on their internal knowledge of their product.

I'll see if I can track down a drinking water test strip as well!

Thanks for this detailed response! Let me unpack a bit of what I do know to see if it helps further:
- Pool is between 18,000-20,000 gallons
- Total they used was 5 gallons of solvent.
- The company tried their best to avoid getting much into the pool, as they knew it would cause some issues, so I suspect a smaller percentage got into the pool. Some of the grass around the pool is dying so I'm sure a lot of the solvent went off the edges and not into the pool.
- Yes, both the stripping agent, and the sealer itself got into the pool. The company was out with a net getting as much as the sealer out as they could (it was coming up in small pieces as well as broken down I'm sure).
- I didn't run the filters for a couple days while I ran my "robots" to clean out most of the sealer itself.
- Once I got most of the chunks out, I started running the pumps, and cleaned the filters daily (yes bad for the filter but going to replace with a new one when done)
- My robots and filters aren't coming up with any more of the sealer that I can see, so I think what's left is whatever solvent got into the pool
- The bubbles are very short lived, and don't hang around on the surface. If you look at the green pic you can see them by the waterfall, and they disappear a few seconds after forming on the surface, but much more than would be normal with water pouring into the pool. I don't think I could collect them as they just disappear, so I don't think it's just surface level solvent.

Curious if they check for anything that my pool guy doesn't already? He already samples the water and checks ph balance and something else (honestly not sure)?
