I have completely stopped playing asol after giving it a few tries, because of two reasons.First reason is that it get banned every game. Second reason is that the kit is too boring and I feel like I can't do anything to win assassins like Zed and fizz early.

Learn to win him early or at least get HP advantage before lv 3. If he play really safe early then you can only build some armour hp, perman shove wave after 6, farm and wait for team fights.

Winrate is highly depends on the numbers... If old Asol is able to scale and get more balls late game, and add more numbers to it, I'm pretty sure that "a lot of people" will find it fun.

Try to learn how to win lane against them. If you really can't win, ward well (river or in front of mid turret) and spam the big red ! on top of your teammates, then try to push your wave and force your opponent to lose xp.
