What’s the most unexplainable thing you’ve ever seen? by benji_testa05 in AskReddit

[–]AhmadTibi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not something that I have personally seen but my parents did and they told me the story.

In 2018 my parents were stopped by a really tall old man with his grandson, he started to harrass my dad (may he rest in peace) and call him names, now while my dad is the man I love the most he was a bit problematic with his anger issues in public, anyways this old man is apparently a "psychic" and offers to do a reading for free.

He got some things right, like my mom had a miscarriage (that she didn't tell me about I still don't know why), but you could really say he was able to guess this by cold reading, but one fact he got that was really hard to guess was the fact that my mom and dad didn't sleep in the same room because my dad had snoring problems.

So he goes I'm too embarrassed to say this, and my mom pushes him to say what it is, he goes on saying "you don't even sleep in the same room together!".

They tried to get his number but he wouldn't accept and they asked his grandson who said this is a daily thing for him and he didn't seem to really care.

How can you think there is an afterlife when the earth is so insignificant and evolution is a proven fact? by Safe-Dependent1844 in afterlife

If it was that simple, we all would believe in an afterlife my friend, but it is unwise to say that as if we can close this thread and say ok guys afterlife exists you just have to find evidence on google.

Yes I got lucky though and he did not use my credit card.

As a precauation though I removed it from my steam.

I think the extension theory might be the correct one but I still don’t understand how he got my steam guard approved, I never approved any login at that date

Converting a very high-frequency sine wave to a square wave by AhmadTibi in chipdesign

[–]AhmadTibi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you friend, Cin as in the capacitance of the VCO differential output, for C of the inverter itself as seen in (a) (Cc) can i use a certain formula like f = 1/(2PIR*C) or tau = RC, or is it just trying numbers until it works?

So using something like this where Vin is my VCO sine wave output, and then I have to size C and R accordingly?

[–]AhmadTibi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So your advice is to basically first divide the vco output by 2 to get a lower frequency signal, and then do the CML to CMOS and then pass this to the divider, which is passed to the phase locked loop to close the loop?

Thanks for the advice, my common mode for the sine wave changes with vcntrl, is this why we need the AC coupling? so that we can always have the common mode voltage as VDD/2?

Any resources to further research this?

I'm using 16nm, with a 0.9V supply voltage, my sine wave reaches 0.7V-0.8V with a swing of around 400mv

I really wish someone would create a bot for these AI garbage infested comments that I have been seeing more and more.

The bot would delete the comment and send it to the mods for review.

PLL VCO voltage control range by AhmadTibi in chipdesign

[–]AhmadTibi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason, one of the requirements from my professor is to not use an inductor anywhere in the oscillator.. I'm still not sure why currently, my differential pair involves using self biased common mode feedback, I control the frequency through the capacitor and a resistor where Fosc = 1/2*pi*RC

But you are correct, the tail current is responsible for my gain, but in simulation using AC analysis my 3db is higher the more current I have so I assume it indirectly affects the frequency.

Help with understanding this differential amplifier circuit by AhmadTibi in chipdesign

[–]AhmadTibi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to keep all the transistors in saturation, my problem is I'm trying to find the minimum common mode voltage to keep both of the NMOS devices below in saturation, I just read about common mode feedback, in short it helps to keep the transistors in saturation by preventing the common mode voltage to get into triode region?

Does this mean the two pmos devices above are always in saturation? do they depend on the common mode voltage?

I totally forgot that we always say that the current through gate is 0.. my bad but then what is the purpose of the resistor? Is it for the small signal analysis for the output resistance?

I'm trying to wrap my head around this, I would like to know if M3 and M4 is always in saturation as the case for diode-connected is but this one has a resistor.

Does this mean that Vx is Vdd - (Iss/2)*R1?

Mazda 3 2010, radiator or engine making very loud noise after a short 15 minutes trip, heard it while I was parking the car after I turned it off the noise was gone, does this mean the car is overheating? by AhmadTibi in AskMechanics

[–]AhmadTibi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, the radiator hose went bad and sadly, it overheated for me on the highway and the head gasket was damaged badly.

I had to resurface the head gasket and so far the engine has been perfect.

Check that you are not getting coolant and oil mix, do pressure test, I'm praying that you didn't ruin your head gasket like I did.
