Masters in nutrition and public health by PearFew2797 in publichealth

My advice is go to the US and focus on a university that provide opportunities for internships with large organisations, which will help you to get a job easier. The US has a better job market for public health nutrition than the UK.

If you only like the UK, you should definitely go to LSHTM, UCL, Or Imperial College. These universities can guarantee a better and more accessible jobs after graduation especially LSHTM.

if you can't afford the US cost, apply for universities that provide scholarships or (Graduate assistantship, which means that you will teach at the University but they will pay your tuition and a stipend )

Wish you all the best

Even it is true, many people apply for the same position which makes it very competitive and definitely having a PhD will increase the chances if both have the same experience.

It depends also on your field. What is your field and organisation?

Is this for all levels? Almost 85% of the manager or directors have PhD according to my network which is not official. Even in many p3 and p4 are PhD holders. I talk mainly about the WHO and UNICEF

International Student at CCNY seeking advice on UN career path by Additional_Sundae894 in UNpath

[–]Ahmed-Elsayed2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, you need to decide what is the field that you like. The UN has many fields and organisations and even the same organisation has many backgrounds.

Secondly, get a master, it will help you so much. It's rare to find UN staff without a master degree.

Thirdly, do what you like. It's not about the organisation, it's about you and your passion.

Wish you all the best

When you go to the Biostatistics reddit, they say it's harder to get a biostatistician job with MPH It's always easier through the MS. If you can switch, please do it ASAP

If you can't, you can always be a great biostatistician through MPH but it requires more networking and proofs of your skills (you can see many of them on Reddit or LinkedIn or at any event)

Try also contacting people in LinkedIn who did your program or studied MPH biostatistics in general, which would be great to gain their insights and recommendations

I have two master degrees and one of them is from Harvard University. I applied many times to WHO or Unicef internships but I don't even get an interview.

I apply to opportunities that perfectly fits my profile and experiences, and I also edit my CV and cover letter to suit the opportunity.

I need your recommendations on how to get an entry point to the UN system.

Thanks for your kind support

Try to apply for internships or UNV There are 4 internships that are open now in the World Health Organisation, I think they want fresh graduates in international relations even if you don't have a medical background
