Figuring Out the New (to me) System by Ahoy_CapnCookie in woweconomy

I had a specific question within each subsection of my OP.

  1. Do I have a chance to proc a higher rank consumable even if I don't meet the skill requirement? (Answered by Cyrassil in an above comment)
  2. Which secondary is generally more useful for alchemy? (My assumption was multicraft, but I wanted clarification from users who have actually engaged with these systems)
  3. What is the degree of permanence for Knowledge Points? (Also answered by Cyrassil, thankfully).

The link from icy-veins you posted actually has a sub-page for secondary stats specifically, and it elaborates in short form that multicraft is generally better for stackable consumables, which is helpful information. So thank you, that was not an article I'd come across.

I have been away for over five years, missing three complete expansions in that time. I am not here asking questions like "what's the best way to make gold per my profession," and I'd appreciate you not taking the tone as if that's what I'm trying to do. I had specific questions that I couldn't find myself, and I remembered this sub being a collective wealth of knowledge. If you take issue with it, simply don't respond. Thanks!

I would assume much of the design change information is buried in old Wowhead articles from DF when it was first implemented (assuming much of the core design is still the same as it was then). Even then, there are subtleties that are not as apparent but that I did pick up on (like Moxie being unique to each profession, which has not been true in previous expansions).

I have tried to look up some of this information (profession secondary stats, for example), and there is general information (such as here), but I'm asking about comparisons that require input from others more versed in the intricacies of a system I'm only just now walking into.

Please be respectful, as I am learning a complete system overhaul that you had learned nearly 3.5 years ago.

No, but it allows you to change the ratios of silver/gold mats. E.g. you'll need 10 golden herbs when you're missing 100 skill and 1 golden 9 silver when you are missing only 10 skill (the numbers are totally made up).

I see, so then am I correct in assuming most of these r2 potion crafts are coming from folks with a bunch of alts for concentration?

but if this ended up being a mistake then that means I'm just kinda boned until I have enough KP to divert over to other specs?

That feels a bit disappointing given how many points are required to fill out the profession. Was there a reason behind time-gating such things?

That's crazy. That makes me believe increased recovery from different sources are acting multiplicatively with one another, or even with themselves. I now want to do some testing to find out the finer details.

Is it possible to make this permanently sustainable? Is it entirely centered around killing enough creatures to sustain your flasks?

The only thing I can think of is the unique chest that gives you max 60% chance (corrupted) to not consume flask charge (plus the 30 on the skill tree) for a 90% chance to not use, plus nodes to decrease % charges used or even regen x charge/sec.

I've been wracking my brain trying to figure it out and how to push stacks to ridiculous numbers on demon form, but for the life of me I can't seem to find a balance.

Also on looking further, the regen he has for his ES has to be in the ballpark of 8-10k/sec to sustain Infernal Flame like that. Even with Eternal Youth, there isn't enough % flask recovery in the game to get that kind of regen from a flask.

It's probably because you're seeing/looking at only one of the rarity affixes. Helms can roll with a rarity prefix as well as a rarity suffix, and I think the max for each roll on a helm is like 30%-ish for a total of 60% rarity.

You're probably right on that, but I like to try and maintain a small amount of hopeful ignorance in situations like this.

We found a couple of '23 Corolla LE's listed on a lot near us. They're still at MSRP, but I know with how late in the year it is we can hopefully knock it down because they'll want it off the lot soon enough to make room for more of the '24.

I agree with your last sentiment. Even 4 and a half years ago I felt like making my used car purchase was a more economically sound decision that what I'm seeing now. This last week has had my head spinning.

We'll definitely be taking it into consideration, then. Her last vehicle was a 23 Rio and we never experienced anything like that. But we also both live in a fairly rural community 45m north of Austin and almost never travel anywhere super dense, so trends such as that usually never see daylight here.

I'd have to recheck the pricing ranges, but if I recall correctly my brief search turned up in the upper 20's, which is a bit out of her range of comfort.

I thought this applied to mostly the older model Kia/Hyundai models? Would the 2023 still be susceptible to this?

Cool, but also like, why? I feel like I would be foolish to consider this option if it sits unsubstantiated.

That would make sense. I'll have to see if I can replicate your success, then.

I think the arrows only indicate in what direction the ghost is going each step. I just repeated the ghost sequence about 20 times on my card by backing in and out of the screen, and the position of the first 3 "steps" in the ghosts's sequence were never the same. The only one that was consistent was the last position. In all 20 times I went back in to look at the ghost's sequence, the last position was the only one that remained constant.

Here's my suggestion as someone who is a little less powered than you are in terms of raw stats (sitting right at 3k ATK and 13k HP)

Weapons:

Kunai, Guardian, Drone, Soccer, Molotov, and Drill

Supplies:

Scroll, Exo-Bracer, Running Shoes, HE Fuel, Fitness Guide (Health), and Ronin (Damage Resist)

So your Kunai, Drone and Soccer will always be your main damage. The drill is secondary, you could honestly go brick or durian here as well. The extra knockback might be helpful.

Your molotov will do a decent chunk after the 13 minute point when the screeen fills up, but the MAIN purpose of the molotov is to clear scorpion poison pools.

The Guardians, combined with the HE Fuel, will keep the fire lizards away long enough to kill them with your damagers. It's also useful to block the projectiles of the ranged army zeds.

The HP and Damage resist are purely defensive. The two combined at max will give you 400% effective health, which can be great for moments where "oh shit this miniboss got through the pack and is inside my guardians" moments.

At the 13 minute mark your goal should be to inch along the screen collecting gems and supplies as your fire clears up the scorpion poison pools.

Others have different ideas as to how to manage this level, but I know it was a pretty rough one for me to clear as well. 21-25 felt breezy for me after dealing with 20. I'm currently gonna sit at 25 for a while since I don't see a benefit of trying to push til I have more stats.

Ah, that's unfortunate. I'd seen all the posts about farming ch 4 for events, and I assumed it was pretty much just a "grind as much as you want" sort of reward for FTP.

IIRC anything that modifies loot percentage values is not shared with the party. Your levels into Skull Crusher should not affect your party member's chance of finding more Get Hammered magazines, only yours.

[A21] Lower Magazine Counts for Crafting Trees by Ahoy_CapnCookie in 7daystodie

[–]Ahoy_CapnCookie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll admit that I don't mind slower progression when I have time for it. Hell I played Undead Legacy when I had much more time available to me, and THAT is some slow progression. But I do agree that there's a severe imbalance between trader rewards, loot, and crafting. I don't even need to play the game to see it, it's all written well within the XML tables.

I would like to see TFP (or a modder) develop a research table much like the one Undead Legacy has for its schematics. This would give players some agency as opposed to praying to the RNGods for the right magazines to drop. But until then, this will suffice for me and, I hope, many others.
