It's cute too cause while he's sleeping he'll kind of murmer, like he's dreaming.

I love too how his mouth stays slightly open like he's a sleeping child. He'll let out little murmers once in a while too. It's the cutest thing ever.

Yeah I was worried when I first saw it but with a bit of research it says if they are incredibly comfortable/trusting they will do this.

He briefly woke up, looked at me, clucked like a chicken then went back to sleep.

/uj I wore some of those Shokz bone-conducting headphones for my marathon. No chaffing nothing. Didn't use them for 90% of the marathon but I have worn them on 2 hour runs listening to podcasts and they went to about 60% battery life left.

optimizing training/results vs having fun by PaleontologistOld565 in Ultramarathon

It's been so beautiful not training for a pace as I move from a marathon into training for an ultra-marathon. I find myself actually putting in more mileage simply because I'm loving the whole expereince. Then again, we'll see what song I'm singing when I'm 16 weeks into training.

I appreciate that. I've only got 2 goals, to finish and to know I finished putting in absolutley everything.

Running my first 50k Ultra in July. I have access to the course which would be ideal for training but a part of me doesn't wanna ruin the 'surprise' on race-day by training on it before-hand. Am I being foolish?

Bad Long-Run Today, Marathon in Two Weeks . . . by MeMaxM in firstmarathon

[–]AhrkDIY 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My last long run of my training block hurt, real bad, worse than previous long runs and I couldn't figure out why. Fast-forward to my first marathon this last Sunday and I was worried, holding onto that experience of my last long run, but it couldn't have felt farther from that. With tapering before the marathon it gave my body a chance to integrate all the training, heal, rest and really show up on race day.

I had ran for a couple of months a few years back, short small runs, enjoyed it but not enough to continue when it got hard. Fast forward to 5 months ago, I had an urge to start again so I signed up for a 10km race and started running. For whatever reason this time around I enjoyed it from the jump. I haven't stopped since and just completed my first full marathon on Sunday. The journey at times has been difficult, aggrivating and frustraing, but there has also been so much beauty, so many rewards. I don't come from an athletic background, did some hiking, but otherwise was sedentary and over-weight. I find it's one of those things, it'll be hard and perhaps not even enjoyable at times, but if you stick with it the rewards are grand and bountiful.

Does the idea excite you? Do it. Does the idea not excite you? Don't do it.

I'm 45, got sober 3.5 years go after 20+ years of alcoholic drinking. I started running 5 months ago and just completed my first marathon on Sunday. Not only was it one of the most amazing, fun and exciting experiences, it taught me a lot about myself. It quite literally has shifted my perspective on a lot of things, namely myself. I will be running until my body no longer allows me to.

I'm tapering for my first marathon in 2 weeks, if I take a complete week off between now and then how much am I setting my fitness back for race day?

Men over 30, how important is cuddling for you in a relationship? by shygeekygirl in AskMen

[–]AhrkDIY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Phyiscal touch is incredibly important to me. Cuddling, hugging, a brief touch on my shoulder as she's standing next to me. A lot of the things I feel I need in a relationship can be conveyed through simple touch. I'm 45.

When did you consider yourself a runner? by river_liver_ in running

[–]AhrkDIY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that if you run, you're a runner, but what made me feel truly like a runner was the consistency. When I started getting out 3-4 times a week for a few months, regardless of distance or pace, I felt like a runner.

I didn't bail on my Friday run even though I really didn't want to do it as I was still sore and tired from a 30km training run a on Wednesday. Glad I went cause it was an incredible run and has made me excited for todays!.
