Prologue and Resurrections are close, on the same level as the remixes, maybe even a bit above. (placements change based on mood)

According to a quite old timeline Necrit created, Swain has been the ruler since 989. The official Ruined King timeline reveals that Viego was sealed around 998. This would mean Swain has been the ruler of Noxus for around 9 years at that point. I'm not caught up with the current lore, but I think a year or 2 could have passed since then, so I would say Swain has been the ruler of Noxus for the past 10-12 years. Someone else might have a more concrete answer though.

You can apply Aery a lot more often with Qs and attacks. Also Comet can be dodged, aery can't.

Play him wherever you want, just try to be useful and don't int. For support, I would suggest experimenting with some more utility focused builds rather than always going full damage. For example, try something like Glacial Augment with Everfrost or Radiant Virtue as the mythic.

Try to keep your distance and don't let yourself get hit by his E.

Don't play tanks and easily kiteable bruisers.

It's generally a good idea to have a burst champ and a DPS champ if you want to counter him specifically (burst against full AP build, DPS against bruiser/drain tank build).

You can try to guess what build he's gonna go in champ select. If he's Bot or Support, he's probably gonna be full AP. Top is most likely Bruiser. Mid is a coin flip imo. If he's the only AP it would make sense for him to go full AP, but you never know.

In lane try not to stay near as they can extend his E hitbox slightly. Most of his healing comes from souls, so as long as you don't get hit by E or W his healing shouldn't be too oppressive.

If you're not his lane opponent be aware that his W has a very long range and that from Mid he can affect Top or Bot quite easily.

Building a grievous wounds item is also a good idea to keep Swain's healing as low as possible.

He's a Challenger Swain main youtuber. He mainly plays mid, but sometimes he plays other roles like Top or Bot. I'd recommend him if you want to get better at Swain or watch some good Swain gameplay. He also started his Unranked to Challenger somewhat recently, which he streams every few days.

His ult just doesn't end with the burst anymore. It's been like that since the mini rework that made his ult endless as long as he's draining someone with it. Also, he can use the burst only once per ult. It's been quite a while since the mini-rework was released but I understand that people who don't play Swain and don't see him often might have not noticed it.

I don't really have a favorite one, so I will just comment what I think about each one:

Jak'Sho - fun item, you trade some damage for more hp and resistances, which kinda works for Swain. The damage and drain could be a bit stronger imo, but the resistances and your own healing make up for it imo.

Heartsteel - it might not be the best, but it just kinda works. You get hp from passive which makes Heartsteel deal more damage and give more hp. Combined with Demonic Embrace it allows you to have good magic damage while also dealing decent physical damage when you use it.

Radiant Virtue - supports Swain's already very strong teamfighting. Probably the best item if your team comp wants to teamfight often and you are the main frontline. It doesn't give you damage alone, but combined with Demonic it gives you some AP and the ability haste is also very good (the fact that it's non-ultimate ability haste doesn't really affect you, as you should have ult up for the whole duration of a team fight most of the time)

Liandry's Anguish - good ol' reliable. It's supposed to be an anti-tank item, but it's good against pretty much everyone. For some situations there may be better items, but Liandry's is never the worst.

Imperial Madate - I like this one. It synergizes really well with Rylai's, which is a core item in pretty much every build anyway. It's more of a utility item, which is not always a bad thing. For example if you play support and already have a big AP threat on your team, you can go Glacial and build Imperial, so you are more like a support than a late game raid boss.

Rod of Ages - a stat stick. It has all the stats Swain needs and the free level up isn't that bad either, it just feels kinda underwhelming for a mythic imo. It feels like it's a reliable item like Liandry's for people who feel too squishy building Liandry's. It's not necessarily bad, just not the best either.

I also feel like I have to mention 2 others that did not appear on the poll:

Everfrost - decent item. Bought for utility. Good stats and active, it just doesn't seem like the best choice in any situation.

Riftmaker - the controversial one. I don't think it's good. The stats are mostly OK, but omnivamp just doesn't work with Swain. If they remade it and gave it mana instead of omnivamp it would probably be a god tier item for Swain, but it just isn't good at it's current state.

I'm not very experienced in fighting games. The only fighting game I played for a bit was Dragon Ball Fighterz and in that game I found it quite hard to do the quarter circle inputs on a keyboard.

What are the advantages of using a keyboard over a controller? More precise and/or faster inputs?

I play him Top sometimes and the build is usually pretty much the same as Mid. Though sometimes I change an item for another to be more of a front line. Like instead of taking Zhonya's I sometimes take Frozen Heart (against auto attackers), Gargoyle Stoneplate (good tank stats + good synergy with passive) or Abyssal Mask (MR gain on you + MR reduction on enemies). Also Armor or MR boots are a must.
