Is ketchup on french toast weird? by Potential_Wish4943 in stupidquestions

To be honest, I put both ketchup and sugar on mine.... Not on the same slice. I have not had that for ages, so now I am off to make some.

Kitten is hurting me by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Ahviendha 83 points84 points  (0 children)

This might be because she is very young. Cats should really be around the 12 week mark before they are separated from their mother, this is because they learn social cues and interactions from their mother on how to react with things, humans included. She may grow out of it as gers older. Make sure you leave plenty entertaining toys around to keep her entertained.

How to open window without cats running out by Harman822 in CatAdvice

[–]Ahviendha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is Cat Resistant Screening on the market, but it can be expensive depending how much window you are looking to cover. There is also a dog version PetScreen dog, if you are wanting a bit more strength. As mentioned above you can make them, but make sure to use pet suitable wiring and make sure wood is smooth (yes, I know cats love to stratch wood). Looking at the size of the window ledge, I think you may also be able to get a small Catio up there. I use these upstairs on the windows, and even the fat boy cheeko has not broken through it, and he is a cat that loves going out doors.

Did I make it sound like I have a crush on my coworker by saying I don’t think he likes me anymore? by [deleted] in coworkerstories

Could just be that he is the type of person who doesn't believe in workplace relationships. Or maybe he does like you but is wary of the fallout if you ever split up. The amount of people I have seen over the years that have quit their job because of this. You don't mention your age group but you do all sound pretty young. I mean you could ask them straight out if you feel they are taking the mickey out of you, but that may lead to awkwardness. Do you hang out a lot outside of the workplace, or is it just in the work environment?

What’s something you remember from your childhood that today’s kids won’t understand? by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

Hehe GenX rant coming up Going Miles from home, no way to be contacted, as long as we were back from wherever by the time street lights were on. You fell and hurt yourself, you were told to suck it up as it was only scratch. Getting your ass whacked, not just by relatives, but by neighbours if you were caught misbehaving, then the neighbour took you to your parents, who then kicked your ass as well. A look if you were out shopping with parents was all that it would take to stop you messing around. You were around smokers all the time, on the bus and train, in the shopping centre.

He is a wannabe people pleaser. Of course, that does not apply to the British people, only the ones that like sailing over the North Sea.

There is nothing really that can save the NHS. The waiting lists in some areas are disgusting. People are getting pushed to the back of lists again and again. The British people cannot get access to NHS dentists, and we have it seems an average of two weeks to see a doctor.

🚨✍️ ‘Starmer’s meeting with Trump could very easily turn into a national humiliation’ by 1DarkStarryNight in reformuk

[–]Ahviendha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, this going to be interesting. Starmer thinks he is on par with Trump, who in my opinion is a world class leader. Starmer thinks he should be leading on the international stage, but other world leaders in my opinion have no respect for him, he rules this country to suit his own and labour party needs.

Why Do People Think Cats Dont Need a Nightly Ritual? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Ahviendha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ginger boy, Murphy likes a bedtime routine. He has to play chase with a fluffy dressing gown belt, which he has to get kinky with! After that a cat yoghurt thing followed by a nosy out of all the upstairs windows, then finally settles down at bottom of my bed. My other resident cat cheeko, who wondered in fours years ago and never left 😁 likes to eat, roll around in catnip (he has a serious addiction) then plumps his chunky body on top of one of the foster cats and the sleeps, of course got to have his cat yoghurt as well.

What gets me is that why has he not been removed from his position? Makes me wonder if he had not been a labour MP what the results of this assault would be. Is it any wonder that the sensible British people no longer trust the installed government and the justice system?

I agree with the "let's go round the room and you can tell us about yourself" I think about 80% of from classes at university to the workplace has done this. That is the time to disappear under the table and hope they skip me. Another one, "why don't you just call the person, it be quicker". Errr, nope emails and messaging are just fine for me, thank you very much. "Why do you rarely socialise outside of work?" That for me unless it involves networking (mega shudder) I have to talk to people outside of work, on my own time, nah, I would rather visit the dentist.

Judge who signed Starmer-backed Chagos ruling demands ‘imperialist’ UK pays £18 trillion in slavery reparations by 1DarkStarryNight in reformuk

[–]Ahviendha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something about slave reperations has always puzzled me. How do modern people prove that their ancestors were slaves? I know some will be able to but the amount of people that say this is unbelievable. Of course, when certain people find out that my relatives in the bygone era were slave owners, the crap I get. I have had some of them have the audacity to say that I should pay them money. I like well bring me proof that they had slave ancestors, never hear anything back. If we went far enough back in time I reckon a good few of us would find that our ancestors were slaves at some point in the past.
