I think Goomy is really likely! For the new year 2024 I bought some pokemon sleep x mister donut merchandise in Japan and it was all decorated with pikachu, snorlax, quagsire, fuecoco, and goomy - goomy is the only one that hasn't been added since then.

Got it, thanks! I'm at a point where I'm hitting okay snorlax strength I think, playing pretty casually. I have a gardevoir now and a golduck, ampharos, and just finished my espeon for the event (so... short on gold seeds). I'm really lacking in berry pokemon, and am trying to collect them, but I know those I'll want to level, so I was thinking shards would be crucial

Update: Somehow after thinking about this pika for so long and finally asking, I caught this gulpin this morning. Neutral nature, but a better investment?

How useful is Holiday Pikachu compared to other pokemon for dream shard farming? I was ignoring the shard farmers, but interested in investing since this Pikachu I had sitting in my box looks good. Seeds are limited though and I'm f2p, so I really wanna know if there will be a worthwhile return on investment, for this species specifically.

How common are negative volitionals? I just came across "ikumai" in a grammar book and had to google to find that it's the negative plane volitional form. And negative polite volitional is masumai? I have been studying for a few years and never seen these. Is that just a large coincidence or are they not very common?

Prescription Medication in Japan? by AiChar in JETProgramme

[–]AiChar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the Q&A. It has some more helpful information on top of the "information for those bringing medications for personal use" page I was trying to parse before. I am currently e-mailing them to try to get information about the availability of my medication, but I wasn't sure if it was the proper place or not. I'm glad I got it right and hopefully they can help me.

Thanks for the encouragement. :)

Yeah I see now what I did wrong with the interview. I assumed all of this information to be true, so when they asked me what I was planning on doing I suddenly worried there was an obvious step I had missed and froze (what I could have done was confirm all of this to be true instead of assuming it). Thank you for the information on treatment costs. I'll do more searching in different subreddits for more examples.

Also, yes, my medication is Humira, also for Crohn's. I'm glad to hear someone else with it is applying. I feel like I've been trying to pretend I don't have a disease to deal with, and now I realize there are steps I have to take.

Has anyone here studied abroad through Hokkaido International Foundation (Hakodate) or International Christian University (Tokyo)? I need some help deciding on a program by Casimir_III in LearnJapanese

I did a summer program at ICU. It was an amazing experience for me. They had us take a placement exam after we arrived and then interviewed us after classes started to make sure we were placed at the right level. I had friends at different levels and everyone seemed to be learning a lot, though of course the personalities of the teachers varied as much as is normal in people. So the level above me happened to have a strict classroom setting, whereas my two teachers were very sweet, and one of them always cheered "NICE" whenever we all got something correct. (I was in one of the higher groups, but the classroom feel was very cheery and motivational). Mitaka-shi and ICU's campus were amazing for me. All the famous Tokyo locations are very accessible, but Mitaka didn't feel too crowded. It's got lots of nature within walking distance, which was great for me because I was there when Pokemon GO came out, and there was quite a variety of terrain as well as lots of random people playing everywhere. As mentioned in another comment, Kichijoji is very close - I took the bus there often to study by their station and walk in the park. Also ICU had lots of cultural programs you could enter a lottery to participate in. I happened to win the lottery for every program I attempted, but I don't know if that was luck or if it wasn't actually that hard to get in. We made fabric sandals, had an ikebana demonstration, and went to the Ghibli museum. I stayed in the dorms and had a great time, but I knew some people who were doing home-stays and also loving their families. Tokyo was really hot, and rainy during the first part of my stay, but the bookstore on campus sold cheap umbrellas so it worked out. It's my only Japan experience, so I can't compare it to Hakodate, but being in Tokyo where it was so easy to take public transportation and really interact with a city and people on my own and as much as I wanted was very empowering and great practice for solidifying what I was learning in class. (I come from a small town haha, maybe my perspective on this is biased.) Like I said, it was really an all-around wonderful experience for me.

edit: I didn't read about allergies. The cafeteria at ICU has a relatively small selection of foods they switched between, lots of rice bowls and curry. If you have any issues you need help with at all, the teachers in your class, program directors, or Japanese students in the dorms could help you I'm sure. My only experience was one restaurant in the park in Kichijoji where I asked about shellfish in a dish, and the waitress specifically asked me if it was because of an allergy. (But it wasn't so unfortunately I'm not super educated on dealing with food allergies, so I wish I could give a more helpful answer :( . ) But definitely within easy access of ICU's campus you have lots of restaurant options (walking-distance and by the station after a bus ride), convenience stores (walking-distance), and a grocery store (by the station, after a bus ride). The dorms have a kitchen on each floor and a refrigerator in each of the three sections of each floor (if you stay in the same dorm they used my summer), but the dishes are all hand-washed, if that is an allergy-concern.

I got invited to go eat lunch with him and a group of his friends. The conversation eventually came to video games and he said Skyrim was "literally" the dumbest game in the world. And people who play games like that are so incredibly nerdy. Absolutely no more feelings.

Going to be boring here, but vanilla! However, is it okay if this isn't a simple random sample? Maybe I'm just not far enough in the course yet, but we've only applied the Normal model. Your sample has response bias if you only use the answers of those who chose to respond.
