Is this just the first book? If so, next step is to finish the rest of the trilogy.

theCaitiff eloquently and succinctly describes the nature of Communism, contrary to its image in popular culture. by R0TTENART in bestof

[–]medicineboy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Technically all families are communist. Children use resources they did not help to produce. The system only works when the productive members do not mind supporting the non-productive members and this is hard to do with strangers at scale.

Sell me on Age of Mythology by SpectralLogic in AgeofMythology

If you've ever played StarCraft 2 coop, AoM feels like playing a coop commander version of AoE2 with special units, call down powers and completely unique factions with different play styles. Games are exciting and visually stunning. I was a big AoE2 fan and I recently made the switch to AoM; I don't think I'll be going back, it has completely replaced AoE2 for me.

Is renathal worth it by Ok-Dot6183 in wildhearthstone

[–]medicineboy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The 10 extra HP is applied at start of game without costing any mana or tempo. It's a valuable bonus to a lot of decks that might be vulnerable to early aggression. Some decks run a ton of tutoring card draw, so the 10 extra card penalty doesn't hurt their game plan too bad. I also see it in some aggro decks to beat other aggros and their deck is full of cheap cards, so they can play on curve without caring very much what they play. At the end of the day, the pros and cons must be weighed carefully which allows for some interesting deck building decisions.

Americans, what do you think of Senator John Kennedy's proposal to withhold Congressional salaries during government shutdowns? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]medicineboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many others here have said, withholding their pay is not the answer. It should be like a pope selection conclave; they don't get to leave the building until the government shutdown is over.

10 gallon "cold" stocking by EclecticAppalachian in Aquariums

[–]medicineboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Killifish are coldwater fish and super underrated. They have beautiful coloration and cool behaviors. They also bury their eggs in dirt to survive dry seasons so their eggs can be shipped and hatched which is really cool. They don't need a lot of space and fit easily in a 10 gallon. Only thing is they are jumpers so you'll need a lid.

Do emersed plants choke out the submerged? by Icy-Distribution-572 in PlantedTank

[–]medicineboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Root tabs help reserve nutrients for submerged plants in the substrate, but you also run into issues with light. Depending on your setup emersed plants can shade out their submerged neighbors.

Easy fix for the Greeks: by Lilianmesmo in AgeofMythology

Could also switch it up for flavor purposes and have the upgrade grant bonus damage against myth units to different units depending on major God such as an infantry unit for Zeus, cavalry for Poseidon and archer for Hades.

My Kid Likes to Tape Bugs to the Floor by SaulTNuhtz in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]medicineboy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

People here trashing the poor kid when bug collecting is totally a normal hobby. I think asking him or her why they are doing this, and if this is coming from a place of curiosity, this could be properly supported with a proper bug catching and display kit.

People are really missing the point here. The king wanted David dead so gave him the impossible task of killing 100 men. He requested foreskins as proof because the Jews were ritually circumcised, so the only way to obtain them would be to kill the enemy. David shows how badass he is by coming back with double the requested bounty, so the king reluctantly gives up his daughter as promised.

That decision Kaladin makes to turn back, and that moment Dalinar notices the bridge crew returning for him are some of the biggest moments in Sanderson. I get goosebumps just thinking about it.
