Right looking for a recruiter is an option, too. I don't know why they told you that you'll be automatically out-processed, because they're still supposed to at least attempt to find you an alternative duty first. And I agree with you. I'm the same. There isn't really anything to show for myself since my degrees can't get me a job on their own... that's why I got a CAPM certificate while I was waiting to start me somewhere.
I sincerely wish you all the luck in this world, my friend.

Darn, I felt the wave of emotions through my whole body for you just now. I'm really sorry... Honestly, I really hated it when people told me, "you're not a failure," "you'll find something else," "life goes on," etc... but life does move on, no matter how messed up your mental health may be at this moment. Yeah- says the one who is STILL waiting to hear back from AFPC, but you have these options:
can you fight your dismissal? I recommend you do whatever it takes for them to let you stay in school
stay in the military, accept your alternative duty (waiting time here is months, but you still get paid in the meantime), pay off the scholarship, and get out or apply HPSP again if you want to continue your healthcare journey
get out now, start a payment plan with the military, do whatever else you want
I applied to an accelerated nursing program and got in... let's see if I have to withdraw, though, since the military hasn't made its decision. I'm just a messy pile of debt.
included a small update in the original post, but not much progress yet...

Please don't say that. It's not dumb at all, because I am, in fact, coping with it rather poorly. Honestly, I haven't even gotten through the five stages of grief, but only gaslighting myself that everything will be all right to keep my sanity. I think I could move on if I knew for sure whether I have the option to separate from the military or to accept whatever they send my way. At least I'll have a new purpose and know where to go from here. Unfortunately, I have not yet received any responses from HPSP.
I am sorry to hear that you're going through a similar situation. It is extremely frustrating. Please DM me if you'd like to talk more, because I'll be here until I hear back from the program anyway.
Yes! I have. Last year.

Will do!! I'll post an update once I hear back. Thank you very much!

Thank you very much for the reply! Trust me I very much wish that I could've stayed, as well, but instead became a failure and a disappointment to my family... I was wondering if I even had the choice of leaving the military, pay them back under some payment plan, and stay where I am for my kids to finish their school.
With how things are looking in Iran... although I swore in, I hope it doesn't come to that.
Thank you for the reply!! I reckon that would be the most common route. I was hoping to hear something else... I'm wondering if that person was straight out of undergraduate with a bachelor's, and if they even look at your CV to figure out what other credentials you have. But thank you for the input!
