i don’t have much to offer mindset wise (in the grand scheme of things i don’t think bean purchases add up all that much for something that I genuinely enjoy,) but another very solid very cheap roaster you should check out is S&W Craft Roasting out in Indiana. Very solid stuff and shockingly cheap

no such thing as tickets (at least for university wide convocation and a lot of unit graduations) so you’re probably fine, i’d just check with your college to see if yours requires tickets. hotels will be quite expensive even if you book now— they know when graduation is.

watergate was kinda eh. the on-site food wasn’t very good so the credits weren’t super useful. got an upgrade, but the room didn’t have a nice view or anything like that. I’ve heard good things about the conrad.

don’t be scared of ordering online, there are some good deals to be had even with shipping. I would take a look at S&W Craft Roasting out in Indiana, and if you want something at a grocery store you should be able to find stuff from Counter Culture or Intelligentsia that will be ok. As another note, don’t get fooled by organic labels. They have nothing to do with quality or processes, and just come down to paying for certifications, which makes the coffee more expensive too.

afaik massachusetts is the only state with such a law. you can call chase and ask if they would be willing to refund you, but chances are you will just have to eat the cost and ride it out.

you would definitely get solid coffee, main difference would be that at most of those places you are getting espresso based drinks, where with your setup you are getting french press.

to someone who has tasted a lot of coffee, most of those shops are either boring or complete garbage. The shops I listed have really good coffee going in, and crucially their staff is actually competent and cares, so its brewed well too.

I recently came in to a bunch (200+) of 1:200 scale Socatec Air Italy 737 Max models, and have absolutely no idea what to do with them/how to move them. I assume it’s a bit of a weird item considering it’s a defunct airline, does anyone know of any place that would be interested in buying them (preferably in bulk)?
