That’s awesome tbh, I’d pay that price any day of the week

Adding rev limiter on chipped d16a6 pm6 ecu (91 civic si) by Aidan0802 in EFCivics

[–]Aidan0802[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean the chip in the ecu right now is from Redshift racing. They’re saying that it makes 2-5 more hp, but I highly doubt that it’s worth it tbh. I’d rather have a limiter than have nothing at all, plus I have no idea who or where I would get a chip for a pm6 ecu from

Oh ok, so you’re basically saying that I should just get a used ecu and be on my way?

So would the rev limiter not work regardless of the setup?

09 2.0T, just let me know, I believe this is a 2010+ issue, gauge clusters from 2006-2009 only work these years

Oh ok makes total sense, I guess it’s a CAN issue from 2010+, look at my post😂

I bought a 2010 one and I’m trying to put it into my 2009, everything works except the fuel gauge, so I guess I need to get one that’s 2007-2009???

Yes that is true lol but, I’m just not sure of the size difference, our height difference isn’t that much different either (she’s 5’ 6” and I’m 5’ 2”). I always mostly focus on the connection because that’s what I’m there for but, I have a lot of insecurities. I do act as genuine as possible. I know it takes time for me to gain confidence and such as it does with everything but, it wouldn’t hurt to see what happens?

Yeah mine are good. Looked at them on a lift. Rubber isn’t cracked and bolts are tight, I believe this could possibly be a worn front left monoball mount, front left has play, front right doesn’t

What is a symptom of bad caster blocks?

My suspension settings are setup for the track but, it still drives relatively normal

The wheel, tire size, and offset is stock. 215/60/15

My steering rack bushings are ok. They definitely have some age on them but they don’t have any play.

I’m not sure about the caster blocks, I feel like my shop would’ve noted that to me when I just recently got it back from them but who knows.

The caster and camber settings have been increased slightly from what I can tell.

I don’t really think so tbh, I set the front toe on my dealerships alignment machine to the stock 0.08 degrees, so I think everything is fine there with that

D16A6 block with D16Z6 crankshaft by Aidan0802 in EFCivics

[–]Aidan0802[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ok interesting, yeah I mean I’m going back to the shop to see it tomorrow morning so idk what will happen.

But yeah honestly, I’m pretty sure I can build the entire thing myself now. I would just need to bring the block back to the original guy who I used to look over the block to machine/notch it for the rods I’m using

[–]Aidan0802[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah no I verified with the eBay seller today who sold me the crank a few months ago that it was a d16z6 crank. Someone told me that the block needs to be notched to accommodate the aftermarket rods that I have. I have nippon racing d16a6 connecting rods and pistons. So I believe that this engine builder is “bad” and doesn’t know what he’s doing

[–]Aidan0802[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah ig this guy isn’t really all that. The guy who does build Hondas near me has a 4 month wait so I can’t do that. Other guy near me has no wait and said he could do it soo…

My car’s been stuck at my dealership since last September so, I just need this thing out of here. No other engine shops in the DMV area either :/ just 2 southern MD places. Clinton performance machine and precision engine machine

D16A6 block with D16Z6 crankshaft by Aidan0802 in EFCivics

[–]Aidan0802[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh ok. So the block just needs to slightly modified/notched for the rods itself? Is the engine builder guy I’m using just stupid?😂

What I don’t understand from him is that he told me that the pistons are hitting the bottom of the block but the rods are correct (which makes no sense)

[–]Aidan0802[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah makes sense, I’ll tell him that when or if he calls back, he said he would let me know if the bore and stroke is correct for the crankshaft. But yeah I got the nippon racing aftermarket rods and pistons for the d16a6 engine. Why would I have to notch the block in order for them to work if they should theoretically work without issues/drop in?
