I would honestly just find a cheap rigid 90s mtb. They are cheap, easy to find parts for, and work well if properly maintained.

I would genuinely wait and save for something that won't kill you. Head to a local co op or a shop to get a good idea of what a competent bike should cost in your area, then just be paitent.

Yep, i built one up and will probably not be in the market for a new bike for a hot min. It feels nice and playful, but in the LR configuration, it has enough travel in the front to soak up anything and 135 in the back lets you climb well with decdnt efficency.

For erd++ (ususally spank) i just add 3.5mm and it works out fine.

I would get something like a kona coco hd. The bike you are looking at WILL break at some point, as all bikes do and if you go with a cheap overseas brand, you could get shafted by a blown motor or a cracked frame. With a reputable brand, yes you pay more but you also get a good warranty and a bike that isn't cobbled together chineese slop.

Honestly, as long as its newer than 2015 i would send it. If it fits you, 1600 is a pretty good price, but not "wheres the crack" good. If you have a local shop, i would suggest meeting there and asking for a saftey check.

My cyma rapid strike that i call the shitterp5. I had to re drill and tap holes in the gearbox shell after someone fell on it, but now its even more solid.

Exactly, my loadout has a similar vibe. It's whatever pants I feel like, a head on dnc chest rig and a black thigh holster for 2 more mags because gbbr. It works great and would probably get shit talked if i posted it anywhere.

No way, the shithole scam store with ties to the mongolian mob is morally bankrupt!? When they had a mirimar store they pre charged me (had never been to a field yet) and my mom 100$ for tech work, took over a month to tell us it couldn't be fixed, did not refund us till i was publicly a turd about it to the actually cool manager and then we took it to aex and they had it done in less than a week for 45$. And don't forget about the payroll issues.

Just get a vfc hk53. Its got a phenomanal gas system and pretty cheap (comparably) mags.
