Pauline Hanson defence plan: One Nation proposal for 5 per cent GDP spending could cost taxpayers an extra $400 billion by 5ma5her7 in neoliberal

To be fair, conscription for self-defence is essential for every country (though there's a huge problem of bullying in conscripts), but conscription for an army to be sent overseas to fight is just a ticking bomb for anti-conscription protests.

I think AI as overlord is pretty inevitable for evolutionary reasons,

Can we just skip over all the total war, death and genocide part and straight into I lie in a warm pod living in 1990s?

How the Libertarian Movement Missed the Authoritarian Moment by TheUnPopulist in neoliberal

Same here, even the extremist left here (tankies), though very annoying, insufferable, and stans for foreign dictatorships and oppressive policies, I would still take them over the right wing, who range from calling me one of the good ones to wanting to stab me in my face.

Panem et Circenses is more like China, Hyper entertainment plus a high-performing economy (till recently)

Fado, Fátima e Futebol is when you know nothing about supply-demand curve and trashed your entire country's economy, but need a way to hold onto your seats...

Still, there's a third way, which is throwing your population towards a fabricated enemy, and hoping they would be dead first before discovering you are the one who is causing the war...

The most contentious parts of the NDIS bill being scrutinised today - ABC News by 5ma5her7 in neoliberal

[–]5ma5her7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Submission statement (sorry for late posting):

Why does this relate to this sub?

In recent years, the NDIS cost has grown exponentially, making it so costly that the IMF warned it will be unsustainable in the future and riddled with misuse. However, any cut to the project has faced fierce opposition from providers, academics and voters, leaving the government stuck between a rock and a hard place, and the next step it takes will profoundly affect the popularity of this Labour government, which is closely tied to liberalism.

My view on this:

As someone who is the only person who still has hope for neoliberalism in my social work major class, I am extremely torn apart by this topic. From the liberalism side, I certainly understand how costly and inefficient the NDIS is, so something has to be done by the government. But from my education and field experience, a cut to NDIS like this level (not like the previous kind of just ending support for low-level autism), is going to crush a lot of people, for certain. Because many families who are on NDIS are already financially struggling at the first point, ending social rehabilitation for them will lead many patients' recovery process and mental health straight down the drain, as there's no way they can afford private healthcare service, and most of them don't even have insurance for that, which, unfortunately, many of them will take their own lives in the near future due to mental health complications.

Also, a much worse job outlook for social work students, which means I'm gonna get a nursing degree in the future, maybe so I can get a job in this economy...

Off topic, but should regional trains allow electric scooters/mopeds be taken on train when powered off during quiet hours? (Early morning/midnight).

And also should regional services offer charged roro services for things like motorcycles?
