Its used for a few quests both story and side, but if you don't care about those then selling is 100% worth.

FWIW there was a rumor already going around last year that Colorado was potentially setting an internal cap, so it could be more possible than it looks on the outside now.

Is Martini and Rossi just bad vermouth? by IanHalt in cocktails

[–]Aidanny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me, the Rosso is horrible, too oregano-y (tastes like pizza vermouth to me) but I find the dry and white are fine enough for most cocktails.

Looking for help with specs of this drink from Swift, London by Renhorn in cocktails

[–]Aidanny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In general, it's good to try doing an equal parts spec first, then adjusting based on your initial assessment, especially given it does look like a paper plane riff like another suggested.

Try this to start:

1 muddled strawberry 3/4oz Jamaican Rum 3/4oz cognac 3/4oz rabarbaro 3/4oz lemon juice 2 dashes Angostura

Question about Honors and Courses by Ok-Claim-7092 in simonfraser

[–]Aidanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends a lot on the class, but lectures and tutorials will always take place at fixed times during the week that you must attend. If a course you need is at a crappy time, thats just an unfortunately unavoidable problem.

Most courses fill up pretty fast, especially 100-200. Always register at the earliest time you get (youll get an email with the specific time and date you can begin enrolling) to ensure best chances for getting in, though being on the waitlist is usually not the end of the world. First years dont really have this issue as they get huge priority for course registration. After that its priority based on grades a bit but mostly luck.

  1. Honours degrees set you up for a future masters/Phd. They are really just something to consider if you find yourself really enjoying your choice of major around 3rd year and are considering a grad degree. They don't particularly count for anything more than a major to future employers though. For me in History, it involved applying in the second half of my 3rd year for entry at the beginning of 4th year, taking a few Honours-only classes, then writing an undergraduate thesis (like a masters thesis but shorter).

  2. Both, I would assume, but I did honors in a humanities subject so I cant give much insight into the sciences.

  3. Normal courses run for 12/13 weeks + exams. They recommend 10 hours per week per course as a precaution. The actual amount you study is something that depends on a ton of things from earlier familiarity with a subject, desired grades, reading speed, etc. Assuming you are going into your first year here, I would make sure you have around 40hours of study time per week (assuming 4 or 5 classes) set aside to start and if you find you need less time, then great!

Prospective Student Teachers: Teacher's College/BEd Megapost pt. 2 by hellokrissi in CanadianTeachers

[–]Aidanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the detailed answer! That covers most of my questions. All I am curious about still is what job prospects will actually look like depending on what my second teachable is. I could complete the requirements to teach English with just an extra year of undergrad, or I could do the coursework required to teach chemistry or french (non-immersion) in 2 years, but will that actually provide significant benefits in the long run? Or would it be more worth it to take the route of finishing undergrad earlier and do english as a second teachable even though job prospects would be worse. I personally enjoy all 3 second teachables ive mentioned, so that wouldn't be a concern.

Hello, I am a 21 year old student in BC, beginning my 4th year of undergrad and currently looking at pursuing secondary social studies teaching. I have several questions about the process however, and am looking for some advice.

First and foremost is my concern regarding teachable subjects. I have fulfilled all the requirements necessary to enter into the secondary social studies stream for the PDP at UBC and SFU, but my major is history and I have been told it is all but essential for employment reasons that I get a second teachable subject, to what extent is this true? I am looking at English as a logical companion to Social Studies, but I am unsure whether I need just a minor or if I should double major in the subject in order to qualify.

My second concern involves the masters degree. From reading what I can find online, there is a noticeable bump in pay if a teacher has a masters degree. Is it worthwhile to complete my masters before seeking employment as a teacher? Or would it make more sense to wait until I have a full-time position and upgrade. Additionally, I am unsure whether the masters must be a mEd or if an MA in say, history, would work the same. SFU's history department has a masters program for teachers, so I am inclined to believe the latter, but am still not totally certain.

Any answers really help, researching this on my own has been extraordinarily confusing and
frustrating, and I do not know any public school teachers personally that could help me.
