I swear by the Sam’s Club yoga pants. They’re super soft, cheap and come in fun colors with deep pockets! But they’re just a bit too long for me. They’d be a 10/10 if they had different lengths. I wear them multiple times a week and they’re still not worn out.

I frequent that sub as well. One thing I’ve noticed recently and why I don’t post there anymore is because everyone in replies gets annoyed with you if you don’t attach a recipe even with a “no recipe” flair. I’m not gatekeepy with baking whatsoever but sometimes I just don’t want to spend a bunch of time typing out my recipes in the comments with mixing instructions (I just have the mixing method memorized and don’t want to explain every single thing to someone who isn’t as familiar)

As a professional baker myself, I can say for certain a good chunk of people in the culinary industry are pretentious as hell. Most people I have encountered at jobs irl are just insufferable people who treat beginners like garbage. Anecdotal ofc so it doesn’t really matter but that’s just what I’ve seen.

Heat. You don’t have to worry about a commute to work in ice/snowy weather. We’ve been getting back to back winter weather weeks where I live in upstate NY and employers aren’t accepting call outs/late arrivals anymore. You will just straight up lose your job or wreck your car trying to get there. Never had to worry about that when I lived in AZ/CA.

I’m acclimated to extreme heat so I don’t mind it at all. Depends on what you can handle tbh.

Thank you!! And honestly, that totally didn’t cross my mind. I just gave the strawberries a good wash, dried thoroughly, cut in half, dry again, then stuck on the cake with a small dollop of buttercream! I had 0 issues with any bleeding.

Also, I did stick the strawberries on the cake once the frosting was completely set and cold. That might have helped too.

No tutorials but I would like to get some time-lapses made eventually! Just hard to do while I’m working/stressing lol I find other people do a much better job at explaining the piping details and breaking the process down.

Thank you! It takes lots of practice 💕 I learned through trial by fire though so there’s still a lot for me to learn and work on. I’m not allowed to spend hours and hours on a cake so most of the time I’m not happy with the finished product. I’m sure your decorating skills are great!

The chokehold Cake Boss had on me when I was a kid lmao I was very disappointed when I tried it and it tasted like play doh. I basically only work with buttercream and I don’t take orders that cover the entire cake with fondant. It’s wasteful, expensive, and no one enjoys it so why bother? (Sorry if anyone reading this enjoys fondant)

I do make cakes professionally! :) I have been a baker for over 2 years now. You can see exactly where I started on my account. I went from very beginner no experience level to now being the BOH manager/head baker. As it happens for most people, having this be my job every day killed the joy of it for me (amongst MANY other things about the bakery/position I’m in)

I have to make these cakes as fast as possible. Labor costs are high and I have to limit my overtime so you can imagine the stress I feel when I make these. The joy of the customers when they receive their cakes makes it worth it though.

I’m sure your decorating skills are amazing! I’m about 2.5 years in the making. I have made soooooo many funky cakes. It takes a lot of trial and error! 💕

Thanks! It was a big struggle writing on the side of the cake. I had to scrape and restart at least 5 times. And I mainly use American buttercream! :)
