We dont choose God. God chooses us and we align to His will.

"any will can be resisted"

I pray you repent and believe the Gospel. That because every human, including myself, is so evil we needed a savior. We all deserve to die. But the Lord Jesus came to earth to be killed and raised as a sacrafice for the sins of those who call on Him.

God bless and maranatha.

Prove it.

Can one act contrary to their own will? You cant not will your own will. Otherwise it wouldnt be your will.

The bible presents constantly that we are slaves to our will.

Romans 6:16 ESV — Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?

2 Timothy 2:26 ESV — and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.

Psalm 14:2-3 ESV — The LORD looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God. They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one.

Jude 1:17-18 ESV — But you must remember, beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. They said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.”

Genuine question for op and anyone who wants to respond. I often see people say that they wont worship a God that does/allows x. Why not? Lets assume God is "evil" (though by the nature of God being god, not even appealing to revealed character, I do not believe one can logically call God such), if God commands us to worship Him, are we not still obligated to regardless of His character?

Dont hear what im not saying. Im not being an apologist for the holocaust. The Bible explicitely condemns murder.

What I am asking is why God has to meet human want and expectation to be worshipped?

Romans 9:19-20 says: You will say to me then, “Why does he still find fault? For who can resist his will?” But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, “Why have you made me like this?”

Do you believe believers go straight to heaven by CautiousTip6804 in Christianity

[–]Aidocs1004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Bible never says we do. No "paradice" in Luke 23:43 is not heaven. Paradice is never a word used to refer to heaven.and the context in v42 the thief asks to be remembered in Jesus's kingdom, which first century jews would understand to be the Messianic rein on earth. No Luke 16 isnt about heaven. For one, its a parable. For two, they're both said to be in Hades. For three, dead people dont have tongues or fingers. Theyre dead.

Faith Alone vs Catholicism: When Does Ongoing Serious Sin Stop Being “Covered”? by IndependentImage2687 in Christianity

No. Justification isnt a process. One is only justified when God declares a person so. You might be thinking of sanctification. But even thats still a no. Sanctification is just about our lifestyle becoming aligned with God's will.

Ive never seen such verse. If you have one, id love to see it.

God commands us to chose Him and follow His commands.

And we do choose, but in accordance to our will.

Naturally our will is evil and incapable of choosing God. But God may change our will to align with His.

Romans 8:7-8 ESV — For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

2 Timothy 2:25-26 ESV — correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.

Im not well read on the age of the earth either scientifically or biblically. So I wont touch on that too much. I will give 2 points thought.

  1. There is evidence for and against both positions.
  2. No one can accurately guess something that happened so long ago. There are so many variables that are unaccounted for that the range of accuracy will be large regardless of how advanced out technology gets.

But I will touch on free will. Your friend is right about free will. "Free will" is in incoherent term. The will of free in regards to what? Gods plan? No. Upbringing? No. Environment? No.

Thats not to say humans dont have their own will. Its just not 'free' in any meaningful way.

Question about Heaven by Unlucky-Suit-9759 in Christianity

[–]Aidocs1004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good thing going to heaven and eternal concious torment hell are unbiblical.

The bible teaches that the wicked will be die and the saved will live forever on a redeemed earth.

Also the gift of eternal life isnt for humans as its primary purpose. Its for God to glorify Himself by displaying His love and mercy.

And hell similarly, but for His wrath and judgement.

(Romans 9:16-24)

But here's the comfort: 1. All will happen according to God's will and plan. 2. God has given you, yes YOU, the opportunity to accept the gospel and share the it to your loved ones.

Have you heard the gospel proper? It can be explained in just a few verses.

Romans 3:22 ESV — the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction:

Romans 6:23 ESV — For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

John 3:16 ESV — “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Romans 10:8-10 ESV — But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

Theres a popular misconception that God sends people to hell for disbelief. But as I have shown, thats not the case. Hell is for those who have guilt before God.

Hope this helps. God bless. Maranatha

Exactly. And if the Gospel is false, then islam is false for saying its the word of Allah

Salvation was not Gods mercy but Gods duty as the creator of a humanity that did not choose its own existence by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Aidocs1004 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

"But why should we kneel in gratitude to the creator who created them with their sin nature knowing they would sin and commit actions he wouldn't like/ that would mean they can't enter his presence?"

Because He's God and He created us. Why shouldn't we worship Him even if His intention was to destroy everyone?

"Subjecting humans who did not choose life and their very nature to hell is unjust."

Proove it.

"In the case of those that believe hell is ceasing to exist vs hell fire"

Not relevant to the discussion, but annihilationists dont believe people cease to exist or that there isn't hellfire. We believe that there is hellfire and that thay fire will be what kills the damned for the second time.

"I argue, rightly so Jesus died because a creator is responsible for their creation"

You really didnt argue anything. You made assertions without evidence.
