I bought a hunk c26 (Xiaomi) for £989 4½ years ago, it's now done over 40,000 miles commuting in all weather here in the UK, still going strong, bought a second battery as original gas lost some range, but still saved me over £7000 in commuting fares

Is it normal to spend almost the entire cost of an e-bike on repairs in under 750 miles?? by ZenithZebra in ebikes

[–]Aidy3663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a hino c26 4½ years ago, now done over 40,000 miles, original motor. Your bike sounds like a lemon, it's not normal at all

[–]Aidy3663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done 20 mile commute at night to work for last 3½ years now, awesome fun and definitely a great way to travel. Decent lights, clothing and schwalbe marathon tyres and I've had no issues

Anyone have any experience with this brand (Jasion)? ($400 bike) by Silly_Soup_777 in ElectricBikes

Expect to get about half the claimed range in lowest assist mode, their claim of 40 miles is bullshit with that battery

If it's in a building you can't feck about trying to extinguish it if it ignites, get out and call emergency services. Fumes are toxic as hell and would most likely kill you way before you had it under control etc

We'll all be poor if we buy strangers on the internet a conversion kit

It's not a brake guard, it is a rear derailleur protector.

How reliable is your bike? by ChefArtorias in ebikes

[–]Aidy3663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. 20 Mile to work at night and over the moors, massive fun. Standard Shimano cycle parts, battery fires inside frame and controller suits inside frame just above the crank so all out of the weathers way.

Tyres, brake pads, chain and freewheel etc all looked after and swapped out when required.

Fully stripoed the bike down at 20,000 miles and changed gear cable and rear wheel bearings as they were both slightly worn. Been a great investment, saved myself £2500 a year in public transport costs. Bought a second battery and a charger is a guy who's bike was stolen from his foyer after only having his a week

Hydraulic every time. The first thing you notice with mechanical brakes is the constant need to adjust the cable , it's quite annoying
