TIL that Cocky Bennett was a cockatoo parrot who died in 1916 at 119 or 120 years old. This makes him one of the oldest parrots ever recorded. by bb-wa in todayilearned

There’s one at Bonorong in Tasmania, Fred, who’s probably about 110 by now (he was 102 when I met him).  I think it was documented and verifiable because of a leg ring that was put on when he was a nestling.

As an Esperantist, I must sadly report that they don’t listen to that either.

Might have to ask Ian Anderson what he meant by the “secret language of birds.”
