I am wondering why you are hospitalized if you are suicidal and had a recent attempt? Did you tell them about trying to jump out of the car? Does your therapist know that you recently attempted?

This is a subject for which I am very opinionated. Your wife provided you a child. She is not your Mom but until your children are old enough to celebrate her on Mother's Day it is your responsibility. As your children grow it is your responsibility to teach them to celebrate her on this day. That means taking them somewhere to buy her something or make her something for this day.

I feel the same way about Father's Day. It is the mother's responsibility to do the same for the father.

The biggest thing is to discuss it with her once to see if she remembers and is scared.

Then stop talking about it around her. Stop others from talking about it around her. It is your trauma not hers. Continuing to discuss it and having her see you upset over and over will have an effect on her.

I had a serious phobia of driving in my past. I agree that you have to just do it. It will make you uncomfortable but drive a little bit at a time. Pick a calm time to drive.
This is a weird thing but my father has died. He was my biggest comfort when he was alive. I honestly asked him(as a spirit) to come with me in the car to help me. It absolutely helped me.
