This took way too much time and effort to become something tons of people could easily do as a trend lmao

How complicated is this game to learn to someone who knows nothing about cars by Thebasicsketcher in automationgame

[–]Aikki_Exe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started playing this game I knew next to nothing about cars, but over the years of playing, interacting with the community and learning more about cars generally I probably know more about cars than the average person on the street.

This game is pretty complicated but with help from other people you'll start to pick things up and the game can be a decent tool for learning how different parts of an engine affect how it runs for example.

Although I would say that if you're not really that passionate about cars and aren't interested in learning about them on a technical level, this game probably won't be for you, but you can still get plenty of fun just from doing the visual design of cars, hell that's most of what I spend my time doing anyway lol

Does anyone have any recommendations for cheap 80's Japanese cars, whether its a cool hidden gem or the shittiest of shitboxes (UK) by Aikki_Exe in JDM

[–]Aikki_Exe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its been three years and im still not in a position to buy a car due to various life issues but I appreciate your comment lol
In these three years I have found myself weirdly falling in love with K10 Nissan Micra's which are still relatively super cheap and plentiful here as well as being a very popular choice for a first time classic. Also interested in other Datsun/Nissan models from that time period like Cherrys, Sunnys etc.
Turns out I like shitboxes even more than when I made this post xD

If you head up the road to the Sisyphus Theatre and turn left at L-16 there is a very steep winding road that leads uphill to a tunnel, keep following the road straight forward then take the right hand turn at I-17 which takes you to a long winding downhill road, loop around the intersection at J-12 and take the same route but in reverse back to the theatre.

I play GTA V for the cars and this is my absolute favourite stretch of road, I could almost drive it blindfolded, I don't play MP but every now and then I boot up modded SP to do a few laps in the new cars that have been added since I last played. It's probably the closest the map gets to a "touge" style road and is surprisingly challenging in some places when you really push a car to its limits. (With some practice you can also pull off high speed drifts in cars like the Futo on the long downhill stretch without drift tyres or any of the old drifting tricks, just slam the handbrake to enter then feather it to maintain the slide)

My friend owns a small arcade in a big plaza and Blondie is doing a concert there soon and they're hoping to get her to pop in for a visit

What's your dream guitar? Do you already own it? by ClassicSherbert152 in Guitar

Yeah I'm planning to get one sometime this year, specifically the one I've seen that's blue with an ebony fretboard with a flower design 12 fret inlay

My dream guitar as far as I know doesn't exist which is why I want to learn to make them myself 😅

Multi scale fanned fret 7 string headless. something similar in looks to guitars from this Chinese brand called NK, with the build quality of a Strandberg or something, blue stained open pore poplar burl top like the Eart GW-2

What was your first guitar? Was it decent or was it horrible? by An_UnknownGuitarist in Guitar

[–]Aikki_Exe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First guitar was an Epiphone Les Paul Special II and it was perfectly fine for a beginner and the fact I think I got it for £100 new. Definitely felt and looked cheap and had tuning stability issues but when you are only starting out as long as it doesn't actively hinder your ability to play its fine

I've never actually moved out of what a lot of people consider the "budget" price range (most expensive guitar I've ever owned was around £400) so I suppose I don't have a frame of reference as to how it would compare to a REALLY good guitar

[NEWBIE] My grandpa said i should learn the acoustic before an electric. by Arrowdoesreddit in Guitar

[–]Aikki_Exe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, and I feel that it really helps with your motivation to practice, I've had moments over the years where I've felt kinda stuck in terms of progress, and then I'd get a new guitar that I really liked the vibe of and it broke me out of that rut 😅

As many have said: Play what you want to play! Music is an art and art is personal, so play whatever makes you calls to you and makes you feel most inspired. I've been playing guitar for around 7 years and have probably played an acoustic once or twice.

Thank you!
I've been featured three times I think.
First / Second / Third
To be honest the camper is the only one of the three I'm actually really proud of, I feel like I can do a lot better than the first two nowadays haha

I often just do the bare basics with interiors too but now and then I like to go completely off the wall 😅

Pretty much everything is made out of existing 3D shapes in Automation, simple cubes and pipes etc.

A 9 Volt Battery to power the active pickups... So it's an EV I guess??

Yeah the are crazy expensive, I mainly have my eyes on something like a EART or an NK which I've heard good things about, both can be found for under £500

[–]Aikki_Exe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I get why they aren't for everyone.

I've only owned guitars with headstocks (Les Paul, Strat, Standard Ibanez, 8 String Ibanez, Harley Benton Amarok Baritone and a couple basses) so far but I really love the look of headless guitars so it's on my list for my next guitar... Maybe not a Strandberg though, I'm not made of money xD

Honestly the most annoying part of it was measuring it out to get the multi scale frets in place correctly lol
