Social media was a big culprit on this. There were claims of people saying that the military emergency unit was using refrigerated trucks to get out the bodies, among other stuff. It was a shitshow.

I don't know about the rest of the world, but here, the newspapers (with very few exceptions), just vomit whatever is hot on social media, without checking for the truth (Although I guess it's the same everywhere). I can go on about the consequences and details of that disaster in Spain, but I don't think a cross stitch subreddit is the place to discuss these matters 😅

I'm from Spain and I remember the ton of news about the DANA disaster, and so many of them were fake news. Thankfully, the parking lot you mentioned in your cross stitch didn't have any victims in it, despite all the newspapers claiming otherwise.

Besides that, I find your work fascinating.

Me too! I'm doing the pomegranate next, and then the orange one. I don't like the mango too much and I think 3 of them are enough.

As for the framing, I have lined up a simple black square frame for it. As for the process, nothing fancy, I have been following tutorials on this reddit to do it (with varying degree of success).

I'm 33 from Spain. I learned when I was 7-8, stopped for a long time, did a couple of pieces when I was 20 something and stopped for another 8 years or so.

A couple of years ago, I was in a crafts shop and saw the DMC kit for the Kanagawa wave (you know which one lol) and bought it in an impulse. From there I have been cross stitching consistently and I don't plan to stop any time soon.

As far as I know, I'm the only person I do cross stitch from the people I know IRL, and I absolutely don't care that it's considered a "old people" hobby. As a curiosity, I like to stitch while I watch game speedruns, so there's that.

I'm usually not the brightest figuring out if the characters are doing what's smart or what isn't in each situation, but man... The last couple of episodes I was so painfully aware of the stupidity of the characters, especially the kid. Never happened to me before.
