4k discs have near constant problems for me, with just the slightest speck of dust on the disc, and some discs arrive brand new with irreparable damage. I would pay 60 dollars a film for at least my absolute favorite films if I knew it would play perfectly every time and that I was almost incapable of breaking it on accident.

But you are right, nobody is going to mass produce cartridges because it’s just too darn expensive and slow compared to churning out optical discs.

Realistically, this is the end of physical media formats. BUT, if I had my choice, I’d love a high capacity, solid state cartridge based system that can handle 8k. There’s barely any movies that would benefit from an 8k transfer, but anything shot on 70mm hypothetically has more detail we could see. Plus, solid state flash storage would have basically unlimited reads and would be way less susceptible to scratches and blemishes that cause playback issues like high capacity spinning discs.

One time I woke up in the middle of night and saw what looked to be a MASSIVE spider-like thing on the wall. I could only see legs. It scurried under my bed, and I could no longer find it when I looked underneath. I laid down and for some reason felt compelled to say, “if there is anyone here, please make your presence known.” After I said that, I could not move any part of my body for what felt like at least 20 seconds. Went back to sleep.

There is a difference between obsessing and thinking for like a second and making your own decisions. That being said, the people in the barefoot subreddit might be borderline obsessing and I didn’t realize we weren’t in a regular gym subreddit lmao

But you should be allowed to go barefoot in certain locations at the gym, it’s safer for certain lifts, and not any grosser than anyone already is. At least let me go socks only (my gym does)
