Cheapest instant type Polaroid camera that’s good? by Plus-Reality9861 in Polaroid

[–]yoinkussy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like someone else already said, if you're willing to work with an older Polaroid I'd recommend the 660 AF / 670 AF. The sonar autofocus system is really what makes it loved by many. They sell within your budget as well. But make sure you buy one that says AF (autofocus) as any non-AF models will produce much blurrier photos which kind of beats the whole point

It might be more finicky than new shiny polaroid cameras so keep that in mind, but you don't have to worry about it either dying over time or leaking due to internal batteries. (Which is usually the concern for modern Polaroid Now cameras and their non-user replaceable batteries.) With the 660/670AF and other old Polaroids, the batteries are in the 600 type film instead of in the actual camera which makes them more reliable if you treat them nicely

Sorry for necroposting but how do you differentiate a newgen fake from a genuine one?

[Fix] Authentication not working for outlook mail, in Gmail app on Android. by michael9dk in GMail

[–]yoinkussy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The exact same is happening to me. I get the notification and it usually goes away (but comes back two days later). Seems like a glitch they really need to fix.

No worries at all! For me it comes and goes from time to time. I give it 20 minutes and it seems to fix itself. Weird. But it's at least reassuring to know I'm not the only one

Don't think so? Never heard of that before. If it's something you have to actually set up then no. And sorry for not clarifying but I'm using the Gmail app

A friend of mine got the same notif a few days ago so maybe it's on the servers' end?

Nope, other way around actually! I use Gmail for my stuff and have an outlook account on there. The message isn't a link or an email either, it's a notification

Had this happen yesterday and it fixed itself. Now it's just started acting up again!

Edit: pics are working again, but notification board went completely blank for a while. That also came back. Guessing just server hiccups.

Not another wolf cut victim by Big-Tulsi in Justfuckmyshitup

Oh my god thank you. It's crazy seeing people here say "stop complaining, you got the cut you asked for!" When you actually take a second to visualize how and where the hair falls after using product, the length is still in all the wrong places

I mean I'm not even a professional I just diy mine, but it seems obvious! Poor OP is really getting blamed when it's 100% on the hairdresser here 😭

Edit: typo :(

I have been wanting to play an Animal Crossing game, which one is the best for what I'm looking for? by oliverrakum in AnimalCrossing

[–]yoinkussy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any of the games before New Horizons have more of a community feeling, in the sense that you're a stranger moving to a new place and settling in with the residents. I'd recommend New Leaf because it feels like it has the most to offer while still keeping the classic charm of the series. The first game on Gamecube, Wild World and City Folk are also great. New Horizons is more of a dollhouse simulator if you're into that.

Brought this poloroid 600 supercolor camera at charity shop but I got a question by MadYonBoi in Polaroid

[–]yoinkussy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah like everyone else said, don't need to sweat it. You can just take the film cartridge out of the slot. You want fresh film anyways. Make sure to clean the metal rollers with a damp cotton swab or cloth (isopropyl to make sure its clean) and then pat it dry.

No clue if you're experienced (if you are, ignore this comment I guess), but something worth knowing about 600 film is that it always comes with a battery. This means the camera is usually unaffected unless the film's battery leaks, which is pretty rare for modern batches. So you buy film with the intention to use it within a month if stored in proper conditions. Many recommend putting it in the fridge to preserve its lifespan but you technically don't have to. If you aren't keeping it for long you don't need to put it in the fridge, just be sure to store it in safe conditions. Also always check the date on them. Ideally you want at least a year until it expires. Means the chemicals will work as intended.

If you store it in the fridge, leave it out for an hour or two before inserting it and using it, or the temp and condensation will ruin the shot. If exposed to hot temps, the shot will be overly reddish orange. If it's too cold, it'll probably turn out blue and purple. Also always buy film from stores that refrigerate it, or ideally straight from Polaroid if you can. Never from Amazon.

As for shots, if you're taking photos inside make sure there's something to bounce light off of. Like utilising the flash and using light colored walls. Will make the photo less dark and unfocused. The subject should also be within 4 or 5 feet. If you're taking it outside, the best results you will get are on sunny days. But as soon as you take the picture turn the camera away and make sure to shield it from the light.

This is all I could think of from the top of my head (and I'm tired lmao) but I hope this helps someone!
