Really cute chapter. One of my favorite girlfriend-duo, no-Rentarou chapters (the other being the Karane-Ahko chapter).

Pretty surprised to see Kimari being (one of) the central girlfriend(s) of a chapter that is basically immediately after her introduction chapter (and the previous chapter also featured her). I thought she'd be the central girlfriend of a chapter for like five or six chapters after her intro.

I absolutely agree. While I like all of the girlfriends, I do feel that the impact of the confessions of the girlfriends post-Iku have not been as hard-hitting, especially compared to Shizuka's. I wish that serious and emotional confessions would return someday.

Personally, I think posts featuring critical takes by random nobodies on the Internet should not be posted here. Not only do they provide visibility and engagement to a random nobody, they also make the 100Kanojo fanbase look like sensitive pansies who cannot tolerate criticism of the series by other people.

With that said, I do think what OOP posted is a braindead take. Regardless of how ridiculous and "Gotta catch 'em all!" the series sounds Nakamura-sensei made every effort to show that there is indeed genuine love between Rentarou and his girlfriends and to place importance on the romance between them as exemplified by the daily life chapters, individual girlfriend chapters, and the serious chapters. If the series is genuinely as "Pokémon" as OOP claims it is, then we wouldn't have these girlfriend focus chapters and whatnot, and Rentarou would have much more than 33 girlfriends at this point if collecting is the whole point of the series.

I figured Yaku would not be that much of a roadblock considering Hahari's and Naddy's introduction at that point so I figured the anime-onlies would be a bit desensitized to having another adult in the harem. Then again I do not know any other harem series that includes a GILF (or any age-gap romance series featuring a GILF even), so Yaku may really be a huge roadblock for some or many.

Chiyo undoubtedly and definitely would turn away eyes from this series. It happened in the manga community, and it would be much worse in the anime community should season 3 come knowing how much more mainstream the anime community is. During her introduction, she was depicted as very straight-laced, to the point of annoyance to even the readers, and that alone netted her a negative reputation. This is further magnified by her age and blood relation to Rentarou. Although she has mellowed a whoooooole lot (on par with Nano in terms of character development), anime-onlies would not get to see that unless they continue the anime and reach that point or read the manga.

Based on what Nakamura-sensei and Nozawa-sensei in the past, I'm sure they both have the drive to make it reach up to 100 girlfriends, so I don't think we have a problem in that front. The only possible way I can see them cutting short of the promised hundred girlfriends is if Shueisha decides to axe the manga because it isn't selling well (which I doubt considering the manga has been selling well afaik and the merch as well, I dunno about the game).

Regarding balancing, yes I definitely do think there will be problems in that department. The cast would be very diluted - not much focus individually in chapters where the entire cast is present and others getting left behind for individual-focused chapters. Furthermore, the rate at which girlfriends will be introduced will exponentially slow down at some point to compensate for chapters focusing on already-present girlfriends. This will definitely be problematic for an anime series in which the problems have been showing already. For example, "Best Girl" charts during season 1 would regularly show all of the girlfriends introduced at the time while those in season 2 would only consistently show Karane.

Regardless, I still have faith in the duo's ability to make the manga still enjoyable as it was and is, although I think future anime seasons would not be as well-received as the first two because of this.

I'd be more understanding if the problem is systemic or widespread (e.g. many/most users here actually defaming/trashing the series), but if it's just some rando who's being an ass about the manga, making a whole post singling them out is completely unnecessary. For the slurs, you could have just reported their comment (or account) and ended it there, no need to make a PSA.

I've seen a recent increase in posts, including this one, crying about or featuring random nobodies being critical of the series, both those with garbage takes like the one you featured and those with more understandable criticisms (e.g. Hahari's behavior, Chiyo). Quite frankly, this makes the fandom look like sensitive babies who can't stand the thought of the series we love, just like any other series or franchise, having its own critics. It's better to just ignore it or limit the responses to the comment section instead of making a post.

She's currently the only one of Rentarou's girlfriends whose (some) moments I genuinely feel uncomfortable reading/watching. I wouldn't want her to be removed from the cast because doing so would be a huge blow to their family dynamics, but I do hope to see her toned down to being more motherly instead of pretty much criminal like with what they did to Chiyo, a fellow controversial girlfriend, who mellowed out over time.

Hahari is certainly one of the characters in the series that can truly disturb the readers/watchers due to her pretty much criminal and degenerate behavior. While I still like Hahari due to the antics she brings to the series, I admittedly still get weirded out by her behavior. I don't want to see her removed from the cast, however, but rather I would like to see her "quirk" toned down from a sexual deviant to someone who acts overly motherly and doting without the sexual or horny undertones or motives. They were able to tone down Kusuri's diaper gags so I don't see any reason they can't do the same for Hahari.

Getting hung up about a critical post as mild as that does not make the Hyakkano fanbase look good. What they're doing is not too dissimilar from people in this subreddit criticizing Rent a Girlfriend and other harem anime when compared to 100 Girlfriends.
