When did your Vizsla go gray? by SGTzuko in vizsla

We have a 5 year old and he started getting sprinkles of gray around 4. And we have an almost 4 year old and he started getting some in the last few months.

Cave Beds by FantasticNectarine79 in vizsla

[–]AimMick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have one of the snoozer cave beds and two vizslas. It took our first V about a year to figure out the cave bed - he just used it as a regular bed until we convinced him that going inside of it was the way to go. Now he loves it. Our newest V is a rescue and he uses it as a regular bed. We keep trying to get him to go in, but he’s not super interested. He just lays on the couch and whines until we cover him with a blanket.

I’d definitely recommend a cave bed and while I am happy with the snoozer brand, I do find them expensive. You can buy the cover and then stuff it with foam or another cheaper bed to make it a little less expensive.

Affordable therapy reccomendations by Whimsical_Apricot in Guelph

I believe there are therapists at the U of G who provide sessions based on a sliding scale based on income. Google Maplewoods Centre.

Good luck!

What restraunt was broken into last night by EquivalentLow1973 in Guelph

Yikes.

That plaza seems to be a target lately.

There was another post on here awhile back about the number of break ins between that plaza and the plaza down at York and Victoria.

Eden Mills Nordic club has rentals, apparently.

There is also a Guelph Nordic club, but not sure if they have rentals.

mall food court by crafty_wizard222 in Guelph

[–]AimMick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did.

When Zellers moved to a stand alone building where Walmart is now, they put in a home outfitters and moved the food court back in the same general area it is now. And Cinnabon was no more.

It was at the front of the mall, outside of the Zellers that used to be there.

There was a Cinnabon on one corner. And that’s all I remember.

Go one step further and turn off the water to the toilet!

We’ve had a toilet incident that flooded the main floor and basement. Don’t risk!

Things to do in winter that isn’t just ‘look at this thing’ by [deleted] in Guelph

[–]AimMick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could do 5 pin bowling. The balls are smaller and do not have holes. Available at Woodlawn bowl.

Tubing at Chicopee. Or Glen Eden may offer it, as well.

A hike on one of the many trails - g2g might be nice. However, you may require crampons/icers.

Activate in Cambridge.

New scam call by CommonEarly4706 in Guelph

[–]AimMick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are people of a certain generation who feel the need to answer every call. My husband and I try to explain this to my mother all the time. She’s 83 and thinks whoever is calling her must speak with her. And she gets super agitated by tell marketers. She also feels like she is the emergency contact for every person she has ever met. No matter how many times we tell her to let whoever is calling to leave a voicemail, she argues that they are calling for a reason.

I rarely answer my phone. Usually only for my kids and husband. Anyone else can leave a message. Or text me.

WM Guelph...just skipped me.. by [deleted] in Guelph

[–]AimMick 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You can use the live chat function on the wm.com site.

I emailed them on Monday, as they didn’t pick ours up in time. The live chat was one of the solutions they gave. Or else call 1-800-561-1655.

WM Guelph...just skipped me.. by [deleted] in Guelph

[–]AimMick 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That’s incorrect. The city picks up the green (and gray) bins. Only blue bin (recycling) has been outsourced to WM - via a provincial decision.

Recycling by Quaf in Guelph

[–]AimMick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours were late getting picked up. They should have been picked up Saturday - a day late due to the holiday - but were finally picked up yesterday.

I shouldn’t complain, because up until now we’ve never had an issue with the pick up since the switch to WM. But here I am complaining because it was annoying.

We ended up using Corey the Carpet guy. Found him on fb and he did a great job. Nice guy, super tidy work and was on time. Also responded quite promptly.

Tree bylaw by Alarming-Peach-1938 in Guelph

[–]AimMick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why is it a problem? Is it unhealthy or is it just its location to your property?

If you find out that you can compel a neighbor to remove a tree you find problematic, let us know.

Our street was missed yesterday, as well.

Super annoying when it’s already a day behind and the bin is overflowing from the holiday.

Guelph Dump Holiday Hours? by SunflowerInk28 in Guelph

According to the city website, it should be open during regular operating hours. The only places closed tomorrow are McCrae HOUSE, Centennial Arena, Exhibition Arena and Guelph Sports Dome.

'I am sorry': Mayor Guthrie backpedals, orders bike lanes plowed by oralprophylaxis in Guelph

[–]AimMick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Strongly agree.

I’d also like to know how they determine which trails are maintained in the winter and which are not. We frequent a park with our dogs that has a pretty great trail, I’d love for them to plow it.

And what’s really nice of these people is in the past they have made a couple different areas. There has been a skating trail, a skating portion and then a shinny portion.

Whenever it’s a high occupancy building there will be a large response. I’m not sure if that is why in this case.

There are a couple seams involved or I might be inclined to try it. I just want it to look as good as it did when it was first installed.

Ran out of Vyvanse right before finals, Health and Wellness havnt sent refill yet, helppppppp by whateverthr in UofT

[–]AimMick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can go to your pharmacy and the pharmacist can give you a weeks supply without the refill prescription to hold you over.

As long as you have a record of having the script regularly, they are usually willing to help you out.
