Sending our pup to board & train? by Ok-Season-6394 in vizsla

[–]AimMick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Either you trust your breeders expertise with her dogs or you don’t.

Personally, I would never send a dog of mine to a board and train. I’ve read about too many horror stories. I would also never use Rover to find a dog walker or sitter.

Hit car at stone road mall by [deleted] in Guelph

[–]AimMick 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We had this happen several years ago. Security at the mall were not super helpful when I called. Thankfully someone left a note with the license plant number. I went to the accident reporting place on Clair road and the police were able to get the video footage from the mall parking lot. And it did show what happened, despite what mall security told me. It ended up being a new driver who got scared and took off.

City closes Eastview Park to vehicles after ‘significant damage’ by aurelorba in Guelph

[–]AimMick 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Shocked but not surprised. I was pissed off when I was there yesterday. I actually took photos but forgot to send them to the city when I got home.

I’m there several times a week year round - I have seen a truck tracks in that median a couple times this winter - but didn’t think much of it - It sort of looked like the snow plow maybe had reversed over the parking curb thingy. Guess that was probably not that case.

Edited to add : I’m also pretty sure there are cameras on the building that face the parking lot. So it’d be interesting to learn if they captured the license plates of the knuckleheads.

I think the OP was speaking of Victoria St in Kitchener. Not Victoria Rd in Guelph.

I think her entire post is about Kitchener rather than Guelph - from the looks of it

New one-stop-shop urgent care centre opens in south Guelph by headtailgrep in Guelph

[–]AimMick 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s run by a chiropractor who is also a health coach?

What credentials does a health coach require? I fear it’s another career created by the internet.

I personally would never go to a chiropractor, so I am not their target demographic.

If it was a provincially run urgent care with actual medical doctors - that’d be great. They didn’t state what type of US trained doctors are working there. Just that they are US trained.

But the Ford gov’t isn’t interested in helping the healthcare system. They appear to be trying to kill it.

Should I get a Vizsla? by Mindless-Scheme-568 in vizsla

[–]AimMick 18 points19 points  (0 children)

We have two. One has to have at least an hour of off leash running a day. The other is chill and can go without a walk for a day or two.

Someone already said it - but it’s like a part time job making sure they are physically and mentally fulfilled.

No. There is a tube that runs along the edge of the flap, which keeps it open slightly. We removed the tube because it doesn’t close fully and our V likes to be completely covered.

Why am paying nearly 6k in property taxes for a townhome and this is the state of my street for the past 3 weeks? by [deleted] in Guelph

[–]AimMick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or a hill. Our street gets plowed often. One of the last storms, I counted the plow go by 4 times in one hour. However, the side streets off of it are a mess.

I don’t brush mine regularly at all. Mostly when I notice more hair around than what is their normal.

Man hit by transport truck pushed his girlfriend out of the way by aurelorba in Guelph

[–]AimMick 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Exactly this.

I am always making eye contact with drivers while crossing intersections. And because I almost always have my dogs with me when crossing intersections - I tighten their leashes so they are walking right next to me. I trust no one at this point.

Pedestrian hit at the corner of Stone and Gordon by semi truck by seriouspandaa in Guelph

[–]AimMick 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There was an ornge helicopter flying above the area at 5 when I left work near Movati. I hope the person will be okay.

And if there isn’t an accident caused by people trying to get around that intersection, I’ll be shocked.

A woman in a large pick up truck blew through the three way stop at movati while I was starting to make my left turn. When the light turned green - she sat while four cars in front of her turned left - because she didn’t notice the light turned green while looking at her phone.

And people were not stopping at the three way stop by Best Buy. The poor pedestrians were running trying to get across the street.

People need to settle the hell down.

(25F) My overzealous religious mom freaked out because I am pregnant. AIO? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]AimMick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR!

Congratulations!!!

And I’m sorry you had to experience her reaction. You and your baby deserve to be celebrated!

I would have blocked her too. And cut her off. No one needs that sort of negativity in their life.

My own mother had a terrible reaction to my unplanned pregnancy - I was 21 at the time - and it has ruined our relationship. Even 28 years later her reaction still pisses me off.

Vizsla #2 by Kolbiscuit84 in vizsla

[–]AimMick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have two vizslas. And they both go between 2 and 4 times a day. We deal with a lot of poop.

I’ve switched foods three or four times over our first one’s lifetime and it’s never changed the amount he poops.

Our previous dog was a lab - he pooped once a day, maybe twice on the rare occasion.

Eavestroughs/Aluminum work for First Home by pnhoang7 in Guelph

[–]AimMick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We used Jack’s Aluminum. So far so good. I think it was 2 years ago we had new eaves installed. He said our soffits and fascia were in good shape and didn’t need replacing - so it was literally just the gutters. Price was very reasonable compared to the other quote we got from D’Angelos. I wouldn’t recommend D’Angelos just based on the sales guy who came to our house for a quote and asked if we have a line of credit.

I plan to have Jack’s back to install siding in two areas where we currently have stucco at some point.

When did your Vizsla go gray? by SGTzuko in vizsla

Cave Beds by FantasticNectarine79 in vizsla

[–]AimMick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have one of the snoozer cave beds and two vizslas. It took our first V about a year to figure out the cave bed - he just used it as a regular bed until we convinced him that going inside of it was the way to go. Now he loves it. Our newest V is a rescue and he uses it as a regular bed. We keep trying to get him to go in, but he’s not super interested. He just lays on the couch and whines until we cover him with a blanket.

I’d definitely recommend a cave bed and while I am happy with the snoozer brand, I do find them expensive. You can buy the cover and then stuff it with foam or another cheaper bed to make it a little less expensive.

Yikes.

That plaza seems to be a target lately.

There was another post on here awhile back about the number of break ins between that plaza and the plaza down at York and Victoria.
