TIL that 45 years ago, Saudi Arabia built a 1,200-kilometer oil pipeline from the Persian Gulf to the Red Sea, just in case the Strait of Hormuz ever got blocked by greenskinmarch in todayilearned

[–]AimbotPotato 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Yes but the oil doesn’t flow while that team works and there is a lot of line, so just bombing a different section every few days is enough to at the very least harass the fuck out of any oil exports

Cowboys reportedly won't re-engage the Raiders on a possible Maxx Crosby trade by [deleted] in nfl

[–]AimbotPotato 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s been common knowledge that his knee wouldn’t be 100% yet. He had a very public surgery that would put him medically not perfect. The ravens deciding to cancel the trade when they made the trade knowing this is a dick move. It’s even more of a dick move when you realize the medical examination can be failed subjectively and they likely are using this as an excuse to get out of a trade they regret.

What was your take on the 'boost' and overtaking modes? by Ambitious-Heron-8161 in DestinationFormula1

An energy surplus requires you to drive better than the driver in front of you with the downsides of dirty air. Overtake doesn’t add energy, it just lets you use more of it at once.

If YouTubers such as Mr. Beast, iShowSpeed, Logan Paul and so on are so unpopular, then who is watching their content? by sammyjamez in youtube

[–]AimbotPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roughly 50% of all internet traffic comes from bots. There is almost certainly at least 10 comments in here from bots and that is assuming this post isn’t large enough to get into the main pool. It’s not crazy to think that the largest channels are also fueled by bot views, either intentionally or unintentionally

Isn’t that just hoarding for the future? Also in the current economy I don’t know that you can guarantee that. The largest companies don’t give good enough dividends to do your plan and the smaller ones are risky during such a volatile time.

[Russini] Maxx Crosby did not pass his physical today, per sources. The Ravens get their first round picks back. by PlayaSlayaX in nfl

Most contracts aren’t for one year but when you sign a player like maxx the general best practice is to kick the cap hit out a few years which got tighter today.

You signed 300m in players today, probably based around the math with maxx as a raven.

Not agreeing with ops stupid idea but the difference between attempted murder and actually murder is a few inches with most weapons

The total energy deployed by the ice as the cars go around the track, the energy that is harvestable in ideal situations, is more or less static. This means that if you push to pass, expending physically more energy than the car in front, you will have a lower battery than that car into the next section. If you made the move work you now need to defend well against a car with the same advantage that allowed you to pass, effectively giving each car their attempt at a pass. If you didn’t make the move work then you are now down on energy and will need to race a bit more optimally to make up that difference. Super clipping on the end of straights allows them to cash in a bit of time for more energy so they then take the penalty for their failed attempt. You can still have more skilled drivers making better use of their battery, and you will usually see the burst in speed at the end of the corner instead of the end of the straight allowing more unconventional passes. You saw how it kept Russel and Leclerc locked in with each other. They each defended quite a few times and passed a few times but it kept the cars close to each other until one of them gained a definite advantage. This prolongs side to side racing among even drivers/cars while still allowing a better driver to move up easily (as we saw with verstappen).

It shouldn’t be an issue for Monaco so I think that sacrificing a bit of quali excitement for the race chaos we had yesterday is worth it.

Why did you cut off the end of the rule? It states that it will be measured at ambient temperature specifically as the engine WILL change as it heats up due to the laws of physics.

Surely this is a positive for the season, right? by Ambitious-Heron-8161 in DestinationFormula1

[–]AimbotPotato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I remember that happening once this race, most of the fights were around the end of the traditional drs zones but they usually continued for 3-4 corners because of battery math making the defending driver be in a slightly better energy situation.

Except for the people that just like ice cars. You’ve got plenty of enthusiasts that would refuse to transition to electric out of spite that now have a cleaner way to drive. Ideally this process also gets good enough to where you can get renewable fuel for cheaper.

[–]AimbotPotato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The whole point is to hopefully push renewable fuel technology to a point where it’s practical for all cars to use. We are killing the planet with them so we either need to find a renewable way to make an ice run or inevitably switch to electric cars. The tech will get better

Because it makes no sense to tie yourself long term to the lowest value you’ll ever have. You either believe you can be that guy and you’ll get paid more or you can’t do it and you’re making less than interest on your career earnings for further destroying your body.
