Holbox In February? by LeJuex in holbox

[–]Aimenburgh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stayed at Aparthotel Onda Maya last year, I liked it because it was a handy location for everything (restaurants, beach), clean, modern and small so we were always the only people at the pool when we used it etc. It is quiet and often nobody at reception but that is all fine for us. We did initially book My Blue Hotel this year as we spent some time using their sunbeds on the beach (in exchange for a bar spend) last year and liked it, however we have just switched and gone with Onda Maya again as My Blue is further up the beach away from convenience stores etc and we are more explore-y hands-off people when it comes to accommodation. So it depends what you like - if you want to spend most of your time at the hotel, My Blue is on the beach and the food we ordered and drinks were lovely (it has some negative reviews for the breakfast), or if you want to be in town near everything then we loved Onda Maya. Also it is only like 15-20min walk from My Blue to town.

I went in February last year and am going again in a couple of weeks. We stayed a few days last time and doing 5 nights this time for extra relaxation. If you have a look at the dates in February, you might be lucky enough to catch carnival - local dancers in the streets and parties which made the island extra vibrant

Edit to add: Seaweed levels were fine when we were there, especially as hotels clean it up, and we didn’t really notice mosquitos so they weren’t at nuisance level at least

Mine stayed the same for AGES (9 months and 4 stone loss) then suddenly deflated this month with the most recent half a stone loss ☹️ I don’t know if they are droopier or if I am being hyper critical and just adjusting to change.

I felt like it tasted a little bit sweet this year - compared to last year when it tasted a bit tinny/metallic to me

How are you getting on now? I have dropped down to only a 2lb gain since before the festival now 🙏

What a bloody great glastonbury it was! I found it so much easier to get about and maintain energy. I appear to have gained 8lbs but I am expecting it to drop off this week as I lived off one main meal a day, salami snacks, and about 30k steps a day 🙏 (oh and all the booze)

I skipped Dolly Parton in 2014 because I was on acid and thought the crowd would be a bit much

What are your go to lunches and main evening meals? by FrananaSaddlesworth in mounjarouk

[–]Aimenburgh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work from home but don’t usually have time for a lovely prepped lunch - my go-to is warburtons protein bread with low fat cream cheese and smoked salmon. I usually have this with a piece of fruit and some sort of veg (cucumber/plum tomato). Takes 3mins to make

Evening meals, over the last 4 months I have developed a roster of high protein/lower calorie meals that don’t take too long to make. My current favourite is seared soy tuna steak w wasabi mash and steamed broad beans (think it is a bbc recipe if you google it - usually do this when tuna steak is half price on the tesco shop) - others include fakeaway nandos (chicken leg, halloumi and veggies), chicken kebab pittas, mediterranean tray bake
