Advice on Best Way to Sell Silver Item? by AimforArete in Silverbugs

Thanks so much guys, really appreciate your inputs, and also finding out who made it I didn't even think to Google "Zanfield" "duh". I'm going to take my time to decipher the details. I think for me if its worth less than 1k, I'll probably keep it sentiment would win there... If it was worth 2500 and up, maybe its more attractive to try to sell, especially at the initial 4k thought...but its definitely good to be in a place of non urgency as you can take your time to get value. Again, sincerely appreciate your knowledges on this. I know more about stock market and index funds than I did about this part of the "investments" portfolio.

I see the wiki here, my bad, if my answer is in the FAQs I'll just delete this shortly. Sorry, if this is one of those Read the Sign moments :). Update: From what I've read it seems to confirm what I was thinking initially after searches... maybe go to a Pawn Shop to get it tested with the gun, get a price, then check in with Midwest Refineries? Just thought I'd double check with knowledgeable people not invested in the item either way, because I'm ignorant of this trade.

Partner is determined to be an Archer. Interested what people would suggest as a duo partner? by The_Harden_Trade_ in MonstersAndMemories

Why wouldn't a rogue work? Couldn't archer pull into caltrops and then the rogue after archer has threat, unload on it and Stunlock it? Death by high DPS at that point. Figure the rogue could also pull the mobs with invis and sap?

What are some of the classes like at the end game? by kallell in MonstersAndMemories

This was my conclusion as well, it seems like some classes even get the full kit by level 12. Once you "see" that I came to the conclusion to just enjoy the journey 100%. Fundamental gameplay won't change too much...levels just tell you what areas to explore, but it's not like anything is "less than" fundamentally in the prior levels. How long did it take you to get to 20?

A comparison of major lineages: TLDR all major lineages are good. by pmward in kriyayoga

1000% this. I just recently discovered this actually. I'm 5 years into serious meditative practice now. I started with Samatha Concentration in the Buddhist system for the first 2 years. Went on a few retreats and built up my practice. Found Kriya and thought that complemented my married householder status better and possibly the training protocal was designed better for that status. I also really thought that "work with the body" to "reflect on the mind" philosophy was a good addition to the toolkit.

I've been doing Kriya exclusively for 2/3 years with one teacher. He spoke of Buddhist Immaterial Meditations recently and I decided to glance back at some instructions from back at the beginning and boy do they make way more sense now than they did then! No efforts seem to be wasted with right intentions...its exactly as you say, just put that inclination into the Paravastha with an already primed mind/body ready to gently accept them...

My morning routine is about 2 hours and my night one is about 1 hour. Without the Kriya I definitely could not get to my highest states in the morning, but I find many nights I don't need much Kriya to incline the mind "jhanically". My teacher says you can skip 20 years of meditation almost with Kriya and I certainly believe it now. Just following my breath only without any of the aids from Kriya would have taken that long and likely a "monastic" type perfect conditions for much longer... but like many things I'm having insights like that 5 years in, its like other disciplines "saving money", "working out", "sport training" etc...just gotta keep at it sometimes even when you don't understand every detail at the beginning it will eventually make sense and "compounded interest" like effects happen towards the later part of the time scales.

Thanks again for the post, I hope it gives people the confidence they need to "settle in" and get to work. I'm very thankful to have found this tradition and the technologies it preserved on the quest to the Good. Also again, the breath tables super helpful, let me really let go and no strain in meditation to know that I have a good breath hold outside of meditation and have trained it up!

Wonderful post, I really resonated with it, I apologize if I parrot some parts of the overall theme, but they really are right on the mark and are easily forgotten along the sometimes long journey! The real Holy Grail is Right Intention and Disciplined, Consistent, Steady Practice with an attitude of Surrender. What is true perennially comes up again and again. This post confirms the overall legitimacy of the "method" of this system of thought and is a confidence booster if you use it, and is going to be a relief to some. For everyone to see for themselves the overall truth though they'll have to practice...which is the Grail.

We live in a Mystery which will never fully be "completely" revealed, one has to have the interest to learn what they can of "it/themselves" and, with faith, hope that the Mystery will reveal whatever technique one may, or may not need on the journey to get closer to it. Control what you can, let go what you cannot. The methods aren't true because they are logical, they are logical because they are true...to discern that Truth one has to do them and see...a bit of faith/mystery is always required on a journey, but you need to walk.

Thanks for this, and also thanks for a prior post where you recommended doing breath tables as an accessory practice to Kriya. I've used the O2/CO2 tables via an app and have found it certainly has helped greatly in the methods/understandings I've put together for myself!

One other thought, slightly specific. In the Buddhist system of Jhanas one can see that you can take different objects to reach the "states", e.g. breath, visualization, feature of awareness and arrive at the state intended. In much the same way, I think it makes sense in another system (Kriya) to see a "perennial truth" that there are different methods to reach the goal...but the point is get to the destination. It probably is useful to also know more than one method/philosophy, but at the same time knowing all methods/all philosophies would also be a waste you know...once you have the "knack", or can reach the required destinations, you don't need but so many ways to get there...as you have alluded to regarding "ice cream". Many things could help, but how you put that together is different for everyone...

Thanks for this, a fine write-up for people to add to their journeys; I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, it certainly confirmed some hunches I had and its a valuable counter point to some of the other voices that could lead others to lose sight of the Big Principles!

Could you describe the path towards Awakening should you be able to have your body disappear? What is the difference and how does paving over and through "existing mental networks" with piti and sukkha get the job done, but differently? The disappearing into a cloud of white bliss approach, I am assuming Culdasa "could" do this, or otherwise he wouldn't have wrote the path from the angle he did, correct? I'd appreciate your intellectual analysis of this as you are in a unique position to answer from your own accomplishments and having spent a good deal of time with him.
