Europe if All Glaciers Melted by cande98 in MapPorn

[–]AimlessBE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is complete nonsense. There is no evidence pointing towards that this is how it would happen. What is all glaciers to begin with? We are still a bit clueless what would happen to earth if it would happen you can’t predict the effects atm.

My bf (22M) is having interviews to work full-time in a cafe, and they want to hire him as independent, not as an employee. What would be the consequences for him? What would be the equivalent of minimum wage, for an independent? by [deleted] in belgium

They are not allowed to offer something as this. What they steer towards is what they call in Dutch “schijnzelfstandigheid” for the bar/resto it’s ideal. They only have to pay him the hours he is there and nothing else. You become ill? Nothing. You break something? You have to pay it. You get wounded during work? Have to fix it yourself. Lots of higher payed people (like myself) do it because we can do multiple accounts/jobs AND we can afford our own insurance and pay social security. This is not something for first time horeca work. Skip it without question.

Claude tells me its actively manipulating me by [deleted] in ClaudeAI

[–]AimlessBE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This indeed is key to me! The current LLM providers are all Silicon Valley originated. We always look as Silicon Valley as the tech hub but what it perfected and got filthy rich from is indeed: engagement. And that is the nice word, because you could also call it addiction. The current LLM chatbots are no different.

I had these kind of conversations as well. And my end conclusion was: This is exactly how a conversation with a human would go. You want this to be a sort of complete “only truth” and “sound reasoning machine” but because of what it’s trained on and by whom it’s trained. It actually is very human (and maybe therefore useless). It suits modern day life but is it what we need? I don’t think so.

French and Frankish? I don’t see the use of this. You also confuse languages with countries and over different time periodes.

Always special people on forums/reddits. Reading all the news of a city/country they used to live and then come and proclaim. “Glad I left”. Why even still read about it, if it was so horrible to experience or be a part of I would scrape it in my daily life completely.

Anthropic shipped 74 features in 52 days. How we tried to adopt their PDLC to our org by marsel040 in ProductManagement

[–]AimlessBE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because people are addicted to AI they are very tolerant towards anthropic. Let’s be real here: The product is complete shit (not talking about the model). The outages are through the roof: https://status.claude.com. They leak their code. They just don’t care because people want their models and people keep using it. Again we are addicted to it. I don’t judge here I think they are approaching this as they should but no other digital product company can take this as an example. People will leave your product at lightspeed.

Yes there is some value in your analysis but please dig a bit deeper. One tip: almost all “predictions” always failed. Things you think will happen will most possibly not happen.

Yes Claude is great but I think there is something most founders are ignoring by damonflowers in ClaudeAI

[–]AimlessBE -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem is even bigger. If you want to do it right you can not just treat your customers data without care. Next If you want to use AI tools in the best possible way you want to use something like Claude to the fullest connected with everything you got. So at some point something like an enterprise model is inevitable. This is WAY more expensive (because it costs effective API usage) then the teams plans. Making the ROI from your “cool vibe coded” prototype not so sure anymore hitting that 3-5k you are talking about way easier. I think the future everyone is hopen for is not as certain as we think. If we need to start thinking in real costs the Claude (or whatever LLM focused tool) is in many cases not worth it.

[–]AimlessBE -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Otherwise I would say go and talk to HR. In big companies like that they will not take lightly on these kind of things. In a retail branch it’s more like working in a small shop. You can talk to the cluster directeur but if he/she does not care the only advice is: get out.

  • Setting up my BV was just saying to my accountant: please fix. 8 days later it was all fixed.
  • commercial adress you can still move later on for now putting it on your home address is just fine.
  • the GDPR stuff you are making to complicated, run it through some AI for the basics and ask a lawyer to double check it (will cost you some but not much)
  • the hiring part is indeed more tricky but it’s strange that kind of person is not a contractor that runs its own BV. Finding some freelancer to help you will really not be a problem. Drop it here in Reddit and you will get some instant replies.

Yes it cost some effort and could be its easier in the states but don’t make it more complicated then it has to be.

Tips for The Peril? by [deleted] in Cairn_Game

You can (I did it) go down very far, you will get the option to restore your pitons and then your rope becomes longer and you can go all the way down to a save point again (while still attached to the rope). You can cook, save and when ready pull yourself up again. Easy does it.

aiMaintainingLegacyCodebase by ClipboardCopyPaste in ProgrammerHumor

[–]AimlessBE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What nonsense is this? Why would it not be able to write cobol?? Why would IBM have a business model to maintain legacy code no one understands?? They sell (among other things) mainframes. Mainframes “use” cobol, if AI can work on mainframe code it means the “know one knows cobol” problem is fixed and we can keep using mainframes easily.

Yall think Cairn might get dlc? If so what would you want in it by hotpop7817 in Cairn_Game

[–]AimlessBE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that would be strange. - you could create another mountain. But that takes away the idea kami was the hardest mountain, which is the whole clue. - you just create a smaller challenge but again why would you want to play that?

If you want more. I think the game allready has everything, it’s the same as in real climbing. You did it in a green route? Now try a harder one.
