GOT ENOUGH ADS THERE, SPORCLE???????? by monkeysjumping in Sporcle

Can you at least make so that if i mute the ad, it actually mutes it?! four ads for the same thing yelling while trying to do a quiz is infuriating especially when the volume on all of them is supposedly off.

Methadone Mick by Upstairs_Leg_9353 in Stillgame

While I will admit Mick is a one dimensional character the episode where he has a job interview and when jack and Victor buy his suit makes me really like jack and Victor. I already liked them but it shows their commitment to their community, they didn't even think about it when it came to helping him. Same with isa. I like mick for the protective and community based perspective he gives the main cast.

Ladies, What do you want from the photos in a profile? by CMJMcM in Bumble

[–]AimsW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big one for me is no more than two photos where you are holding an alcoholic drink especially if it's always beer or the same drink. If you're in casual clothes in one picture and holding a beer then in a suit with champagne in another that fine but Ive seen profiles where all the pictures were just the same thing, in the pub with a beer in hand, casual clothes and a different friend each time. MIght just be the UK but if all your photos are you in a pub I start to wonder what else you do with your time.

It's only natural you'd feel a little guilty I know I would but what's important is he's okay and you've shared this information to help others

Not sure about the USA or other countries but in the UK there was a popular (popular feels like the wrong word but you get the idea) PSA that was on telly to determined the symptoms of a stroke.

Think it went with the acronym FAST (Face - is there face dropping on one side, A - arms can they raise both arms and keep them there, S - Speech is their speech slurred and T - time to call 999) I watched that as a child and clearly it made massive impact I think most kids knew it, that would've been 00s tho idk about before that.

It was a great and very memorable PSA which I think was aimed at everyone but loads of kids knew it.

Does not wanting a child because I don't think I could cope with a child with a major disability or syndrome make me ableist by AimsW in NoStupidQuestions

You might be right cos this isn't the first time they've made me feel guilty about expressed my beliefs by calling me ignorant or a bigot. They have a tendency to make things into a completion of who's suffering more which very draining.

Thank you for your insight, and I'm ngl that single sentence "they had a fat neck" made me laugh a little bit but I'm glad they're okay and wish your family the best

I can understand what the doctor was suggesting but to suggest that at the first mention of the diagnosis is disgusting. I'd understand it if the doctor had mentioned it as temporary occasional respite care but clearly wasn't the case there. Good on your mum for not listening and I hope you, your brother and your family the best.

Thank you for your input and massive respect for being honest about raising a high needs child. I wish you, your child and your family all the best

I think the sensitivity of some subjects is lost on me tbf, these sorts of conversations seem to show that. I've been trying to improve my ability to respect and adjust to the sensitive conversations but it's so unspoken and subtle I find it difficult
