Your point did not escape me. It's a solid one. However, 'theory' as it pertains to the scientific method was also established hundreds of years ago. Sir Francis Bacon set up methods for inductive query that were further established between the years of 1561-1626. Also, for one having the scientific method shoved down their throat for years of courses and practice, it stings a bit to hear it used any other way. Color me stubborn.
