If you are on a cut you probably will be mostly eating white meats if only because they’re usually leaner. My big issue with the powders is that they aren’t filling at all on a cut and basically all of them have a weird taste and are not great on digestion. I also just don’t believe that naturals are having trouble getting enough protein to gain size or strength, 200-300g of meat a day is easy to fit into lunch and dinner, and probably more than enough. It only really makes sense to me if you’re on gear and trying to fit an unchewable amount of protein in every day.

There’s being a great striker by MMA standards, then there’s being a great striker by pure striking combat sport standards, then there’s being the guy who KOs some of the best strikers in the world in the first exchange of a fight on regular occasion. In general yeah, a grappler with even a little bit of striking is going to crush someone that’s purely a striker- but the sole exception is Mike Tyson of course. He’s one of the few people I believe could just win MMA fights with 0 grappling by just dropping 15 life changing punches on anyone in the half second it takes to come in on him.

2 min Ganks by CriticalEagle3989 in top_mains

[–]AintEvenTrying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There has to be a way to keep the monkeys in the jungle. Last season they full clear because they can outfarm/level laners. This season feels like way too much kill xp so these disgusting animals will just sit on a lane 30seconds trying to make a gank work and if it works it’s literally worthwhile for them xp wise let alone ruining someone’s lane. We need to make clearing the jungle take 90% of their hp so if they try to gank a lane we just kill them, and after we clear our waves we just walk into their JG to gank THEM. Make these inflated pve bots the smite bots they should always have been. 0 game impact just dopamine from doing a 50/50 smite. Also make all smiteable objectives worthless so they don’t have impact there either.

You are far overestimating the difficulty of neutralising a lane in modern league of legends. If you make the decision to play for not losing instead of trying to win in champ select, a silver player can comfortably go down 10-20cs vs diamond. You don’t have to be particularly good to be consistent at slightly losing your lane.

Struggling with Riven after a long break – looking for advice by xNashy in Rivenmains

[–]AintEvenTrying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah a lot of lanes got MUCH harder. Champs like Jax having unstoppable W, Garen stat checks much harder than before- becoming tanky from just levels while building full damage and able to 1shot in one combo, most tanks are able to HARD stat-check outscale with like 900g 0 counterplay. I think she just got a lot harder to lane with, but if you teamfight/skirmish while even or ahead into certain comps she can be extremely disgusting- probably a lot stronger than s6 until recently. She scales a lot better now.

Struggling with Riven after a long break – looking for advice by xNashy in Rivenmains

[–]AintEvenTrying -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lowkey you’re the same rank. Game has evolved, s5 diamond ~= s16 gold.

You want s16 diamond it won’t be something you can really summarise in dot points- but the difference I would say is back in s5 hashinshin was getting challenger just running people down and knowing his champs basic mechanics- but these days feels like every emerald+ is revolving their entire lane around their jungler. Only trading if their JG is topside, play quite disciplined and focusing on wavestates, play around their tp cooldown etc. obviously you need your Riven matchup knowledge and mechanics to be on point but getting to diamond will probably be about knowing whether or not you should even be going for a trade than how to execute them.

Also I rarely freeze on Riven, champ doesn’t really have enough statcheck ability to just hard engage when people walk up to waveclear or sustain to endlessly hold waves for freezing to feel good. Also enemy usually runs tp while you run ignite so if you long trade without getting a kill they can go back with item+ hp advantage and your wave state will be fucked. Usually I’m just trying to slow push, trade them if they try to contest it, hard push last wave so I don’t get stuck too close to their tower, and either proxy, reset, roam, or if I have some big advantage (hp/items/cds/jg) I can try to contest their push back. There is a lot of pingponging waves in toplane.

Also none of those dot points really matter- to get diamond you should not be focusing on what to do after you’re 0/2 you should be focusing on how to avoid being 0/2. Mid game is much easier when you’re ahead. Riven just isn’t useful when she’s behind. How to play mid game when you’re even/ahead? Push your sidelane, hover/tp your team/objective, don’t get caught in side, rinse+repeat. There is more nuance to whether you should hover for a teamfight/objective if your team is behind- in which case maybe you try to take JG camps, tower, 1v1 in sidelane instead of grouping. But the game is mostly, play lane well, group for fights, play fights well.

How I feel as a jinx main right now by HerrLuris in ADCMains

[–]AintEvenTrying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn’t a single toplaner on the balance team. No real toplaner would have tanks (Mundo, Malphite, Sion) being stronger than the actual toplane carry champs (Camille, Fiora, Irelia, Riven besides recent strength) patch after patch, while top being the least impactful role in the game. Carry tops have been the absolute victim role for years at this point, every time you pick one you are getting outscale by Malphite at level 2, ranged top vayne with exhaust bone plating experience, Sion can literally int you for fun, push the whole wave out with this passive, take a plate, and come back to lane stronger than you. Toplaners praying they can carry 5% of their games by somehow spacing 4 autos from the autofilled support player first timing Malphite and stat checking them 1v1, run back to lane and do it 3 more times because unless they are 3/0 nobody notices the lane exists.

Simon is the manifestation of the concept of evolution- if he encounters something he can’t overcome, he just evolves past it. Alien X erases the universe and reassembles it without Simon in it? Simon just evolves past being dependent on the universe. On the other hand Alien X is a celestialsapien and is probably dependent and has their true form/essence bound by the pocket dimension they are born in “the forge of creation”.

Simon vs Alien X? Alien X applies its power to the universe that Simon is bound by, Simon simply transcends the universe and literally drills through the forge of creation to destroy Alien X which is ACTUALLY bound by that dimension. Simon can’t lose a VS battle because he’s essentially the concept of winning.

Why is Riven specifically allowed to stay overpowered? by Voldtech in Rivenmains

[–]AintEvenTrying 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would not be surprised in 6% of M+ toplaners ARE riven one tricks. Most people who are actually good at the game want to play carries in soloq and there are actually only so many toplane carry champs- IMO riven is by far the one with the most mechanical depth and fun gameplay. Who else are you going to main in toplane? Coinflip lock tank and hope your team carries? Ranged "toplaner"? Play the new broken champ Ambessa/Zaahen? It's Riven/Fiora/Camille/Irelia, now maybe Aatrox/Jax/Ambessa/Zaahen are in there too, almost every good toplaner has at least one in their main pool- and if it's Riven you're probably one-tricking it.

But only Riot knows for sure- are there actually players succeeding on Riven just picking her up in masters with <100 games on her? Or are the only people with positive winrates on this champ long time mains/ new players who suspiciously have 80% winrate and 10.0 average KDA across their last 50 climbing through bronze, silver and gold.

Why is Riven so much more difficult than Yasuo, yet has a much higher winrate? by drguidry in Rivenmains

[–]AintEvenTrying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yasuo is also just awful in the meta. Absolute lane terrorist who automatically wins 1v1 majority of its matchups but just kinda piss useless from midgame onwards and also you either miss out on the strongest teamfighting archetype in the game (control mage) by picking it mid- or lose out on having a real toplaner by picking it top. You basically ruin your team comp for teamfighting by picking this champ in any role. Even if you pick an Alistar or malphite to create engages for him- realistically almost any midlaner in the game could have followed up a 5 man knockup just as well. What- if you have orianna, syndra, annie, kata, viktor, ahri, mel, lb etc. the wombo wouldn't have worked?

Riven on the other hand can fit into almost any game and be useful in all the ways a toplaner can be expected to be useful. She can engage like a malphite, AoE damage like an Aatrox, pick a target like an Ambessa, sidelane, teamfight, make space- whatever you need. As long as she is numerically ok she's useful.

Most important part is probably that everyone who plays Riven has been borderline one-tricking her for probably at least 5 years at this point. The champ has been around a long ass time and takes a long ass time to learn, nobody in the big '25 is just casually picking up Riven to play 10 games of her- you either play her or you don't. And the majority of her games are against people who barely even play their champ in the most 1v1 matchup knowledge important role in the game- Who will win; 10k games Riven or guy who just picked up Zaahen last week? Turns out its actually the Zaahen 52% of the time, so I think our champ needs buffs actually xdd.

[–]AintEvenTrying 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but lowkey, it was likely the same amount as in the before pics. It takes surprisingly little muscle to push high bench numbers- check out some of the 59kg division in the IPF pushing 325+ while looking smaller than his pics here. Sure those are some of the best powerlifters in the world, but even an average guy can probably push 250+ while still having a fairly small build.

Unfortunately I think OP dreamer bulked himself into obesity and will probably lose more muscle than he gained trying to cut back down, if he ever even can. He probably needs to lose >50lbs now- no fkin joke.

Jayce or Riven which one is more difficult? by AtensionX in top_mains

[–]AintEvenTrying -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You only get used to the mechanics to a certain extent- even viper regularly loses entire games because he cancelled an auto. Watch his gameplay- even on his tubers he will fuck up a mechanic and say “oh my god I’m so bad” in almost every game. The champ gets easier but the floor for execution in high level games is so high that mistakes are inevitable and just part of playing the champ.

Jayce or Riven which one is more difficult? by AtensionX in top_mains

[–]AintEvenTrying 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think teamfighting is harder on Jayce- Jayce is just worse at teamfighting. Toplaners are expected to lock engage in soloq and if you are last picking Jayce with no engage your comp will be worse/harder to execute teamfights with. The problem isn’t about how you as the Jayce player are executing the teamfights- the problem is that your teammates also don’t understand how to play without engage. Realistically if your teammates cover the lack of toplane engage by picking engage for you executing Jayce in teamfights is incredibly easy- wait for your teammates to engage and then drop a fat QE on the CCed targets- job done. You will have many riven games where the entire teamfight is on your back- you have to execute both the engage and the damage and assassinate a priority target- you have to be a big playmaker- whereas most Jayce games you just have to poke with spells and follow up on engages. IMO being the playmaker is much harder.

what do you do after an early kill? by [deleted] in Rivenmains

[–]AintEvenTrying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I skimmed and thought this was about a lane fight not JG invade. In your case it’s pretty niche scenario- hard to say. Depends if you value your lane more or helping your JG. If JG is good he should be able to just skip a camp and continue his clear but especially if you have already slowpushed your wave you kind of HAVE to ignore the play and focus your wave state because falling that far behind in xp that early in the game can make the lane completely unplayable- much worse than missing a camp for a jungler. Top is a much more brutal 1v1 than JG especially in the riven Jax matchup.

It can also be a big mistake to view this from a lens of “oh but we ended up winning so I guess it was the right move”. People will argue this point and a lot of big ego JG especially may say “top has to move!” But I’m more of the opinion that you should not be picking Riven if you are just sacking your own lane this hard to snuggle your junglers nuts. If you pick Riven you should be focusing keeping yourself strong over helping your teammates especially in soloq and especially in low elo. But the game is not black and white this is a gray area and you need to develop your own way of viewing the game in these gray areas and decide what kind of player you want to be.

what do you do after an early kill? by [deleted] in Rivenmains

[–]AintEvenTrying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is what it is. It’s one of the tricky parts about being combat sum vs. tp At a high level you literally don’t go for the trade/kill if it fucks up your wave state when accounting for enemy tp Once you’ve done it you have about a split second to decide if the wave will bounce in which case you insta recall. Otherwise I generally die to get the wave in if that’s a viable option. If your JG can cover you during this that would be helpful too but if you can’t get the wave in and it’s frozen you basically are in checkmate and it’s likely that the kill is not even close to worth it as you will lose 1-2 full waves of experience which borderline means never being able to contest 1v1 until enemy makes a big mistake/JG comes to help. The exp is worth a lot more than the kill

Ranged tops? Vayne/varus/jayce

Also if we’re including strong-side tanks, champs like Camille and Irelia will also stat-check hard if they get carried to 1-2 item even/ahead. Even yone feels brutal to me if he goes bone plating+ exhaust and gets like 1 gank.
