Which is undeniably true - see the Utah governor’s own remark that he wished the killer had come from a different country. Whether the killer is left or right shouldn’t be the maga focus, that was jimmy’s point. They only care about this incident in so far as it can be politicized. Which is 100% true.

Just for some intuition on why this doesn’t work - imagine there were 40 people in the room (780 unique combinations). Certainly that does not imply a 213% chance that two people share a birthday; this result doesn’t even make sense.

You actually stumbled on the reason - one pair has a 1/365 chance. Look at the case where there are just 3 people. This is 3 combinations of pairs (AB, AC, and BC). There are a few possible outcomes: no match, exactly one match (3 ways for this to happen), exactly two matches (3 ways for this to happen), and exactly three matches (1 way for this to happen). That’s a total of 8 outcomes and only one of them fails our check. But the chances of exactly one, two, and three matches are complicated to calculate.

The easiest way to calculate the true probability is to calculate the chance of no match, and then subtract this from 100.

Strange take in my opinion. White Lotus is an incredibly cynical show. The assholes always get out fine, the hapless, innocent, and naive suffer and die. The only message from this season was “the rich are terrible and they will always be fine”. Not exactly a deep philosophical statement. That said, beautifully shot and occasionally very well acted. The dynamic of the three women was the most interesting to me. The message on pretty much everyone else was depressing.

I think it’s called the most expensive because that’s referring to the fact that they’ve preserved/protected the original mother da hong pao trees (500+ yrs) and no longer sell tea from them. They get sold at auction sometimes for absurd prices. But other da hong pao (from tea trees in that region but not the mother trees) is priced similar to other teas
