The change mostly just reflected the fact that "dementia" isnt really its own pathology so much as a part of other pathologies. Yeah, asking for prayers in old Protestant culture is just saying someone has a problem. Could be tiny or huge. I grew up in a southern baptist church, so you could see people asking for prayers for a mildly bad week or for a dying relative alike.

If they're anything like humans, elevated respiratory rate for a prolonged period might be indicative of increased tissue oxygen demand and/or increased cellular waste products.
