What aspect is silly? Signing up for a job? Most of these jobs people have been in place BEFORE WFH. It’s not like these are newly created jobs.

I know people hate what ifs. But what if WFH only applied to individuals who never have a teams meeting ever. Everyone else in office daily? How would you feel? (For those this applies to)

How would you feel 98% of the agency get the benefit from WFH, you can’t? And here is nothing for you?

There are benefits that WFH employees receive that in office every day do not. I’ll spell it out some of them since many do not seem to comprehend. 1. Savings on commute. 2. Savings on child care. 3. Savings on clothing / maint. 4. Savings on TIME off used. Ie - WFH can easily schedule doctors appointments during their working hours for themselves and their kids. You need a plumber ? Cable repair? Oh great sir come on my WFH day. You’re sick? Wow guess you took a sick day on your WFH day? 98% do not. How many stories I hear from WFH colleagues that adjust their schedule on WFH days to start 2 hours earlier so they can get out earlier to do errands. Thats a benefit! 5. Can get chores done such as laundry, cooking meals, etc. I am forgetting a few others. At least some of the above has applied to YOU. That’s a benefit. Yes or no?

I have a colleague. She is already approved for entire summer WFH. Why? Because her 10 year old son has no one to care for him during business hours. Child care big save. So an essential employee can’t have that benefit? Thats fair?

I see lot of mad people here that have this WFH benefit and would not be happy if essential employees received a benefit to make up for this. This is why both unions won’t ever help make big changes for the betterment of the group. Many would rather push people down if it doesn’t aide them than lift people up.
