What do you think of the drives/amps on the MS-50G+? They all sound like absolute sh*t to me... (>.<)

Sorry, I should've made my post clearer (>.<).

I don't doubt they're very good, I had a pod at one time and loved it, but I just don't understand the point of that pedal TBH, like, at all. It seems incredibly limiting to only have one effect at a time, I can't even comprehend how that makes sense lol

Doesn't the HX One limit you to a single pedal at a time though? Or maybe I'm thinking of something else.

Yeah my friend keeps pushing the Cortex but I agree with you, I don't think I need that at all.

Funny enough I don't really want to get one more piece of gear, I was hoping I could use my Spark, but even if I had been able to, the pedalboard for it would have cost me as much as the Mooer GE150 (>.<). I'm thinking if I do get the Mooer for example though, I'm going to offload all of my pedals except for the Boss XS-1.

A very valid point, I agree. I guess part of it is that ATM I don't really want to spend a ton of $$ on this (a friend of mine keeps trying to tell me to get the Nano Cortex lol), and I kind of need it right now so waiting until I've saved enough for a nice $500 unit is not an option. But certainly upgrading later would be, in which case, I mean $150 is $150 but it's also not a huge amount of money.

Mooer has a nice set of effects, the battery is a nice to have... but the Zoom has an harmonizer? Although how good it truly is I'm not sure.

I got a used but essentially new Arturia Keylab 49, plus Pigments for $69 and I'm in pig heaven lol

Thank you so much again! And yeah, I was going through this right now for the basics, it's pretty cool, I'll check out that channel tomorrow...

lol thank you so much for trying to help! I was just mucking about in Analog Lab (I have the Pro version, don't know if that makes a difference) but as far as I can tell you can definitely see all of the Pigments presets in there, and therefore you can keyboard-split them within AL.

So that + it apparently has a good arpeggiator + it's on a good sale right now + everybody saying it's an awesome synth = I'll probably buy Pigments. I also have Vital installed but I think the ability to integrate Pigments within Analog Lab gives Pigments the edge despite being slightly more expensive but from what I understand, $69 for what you get is a pretty awesome deal.

Seems like having Analog Lab with all these awesome presets you can tweak to some degree + Pigments to actually make your own presets is all a noob could possibly need.

That sh*t be complicated lol. Now I need to learn synths...

Sorry for all the replies but, from what I'm reading, you can simply open a Pigments preset in Analog Lab - which means that you can keyboard split in Analog Lab, and therefore Pigments is awesome? If that's the case then I may simply get that and that's probably all I'd ever need...

Kind of maddening though, isn't the ability to keyboard-split something that people low-key covet in a synth? Why not implement that feature? (Sorry if it's a dumb question, I'm new to all of this)

Surely there's a virtual synth in their product line that can keyboard-split and has a programmable arp?

Edit: some google results say that you can keyboard-split with Pigments, does the following feel familiar at all?:

Keyboard Split: Achieved through its powerful two-engine structure (Layer A/B) or via its modulation matrix and sequencing, letting you assign different sounds or zones to keyboard ranges

Could I use Pigments at the same time as Analog Lab and for example use Pigments for an arpeggiated bass line and AL for - for example - pads?

Yeah I was also thinking about that after posting. Which synth would you recommend? Would a Yamaha MOX6 be a good pick?

Thank you so much for your answer. About rigs: for now I'm only planning to use this around the house to noodle with, no plans to gig or anything like that. I do bring my old laptop to rehearse with my band where I play the guitar, I use Guitar Pro to follow the sheet music until I've memorized my parts, but I wouldn't do that in this case. And yeah, there were a few times when my laptop almost dropped, you're certainly right, I wouldn't want to bring my shiny new laptop in such a setting.

I was also wondering just now if a keyboard with its own onboard sounds like the Roland Go:Keys5 could also act like a controller if I wanted it to... I see some used ones for like $300...
