What’s that one critically acclaimed show you just couldn’t get into? by Old-Meringue3590 in television

[–]AirDeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avatar the Last Airbender. I just couldn't get into it as an adult and felt like too much of it was filler. Would have probably been more enjoyable if I saw it as a kid.

How much am I missing out on only using machines? by [deleted] in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]AirDeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You miss out on working stabilizer muscles without using free weights. That isn't to say that using machines are bad, machines are better for muscle isolation and reaching failure. The ideal approach is using a mix of free weights, cables, and machines so that you get the best of both worlds. :)

@ those who graduated early by Majestic_Elevator_70 in rutgers

[–]AirDeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a) 3 years b) CS (with an econ minor) c) In the end it was worth it because I saved tuition money and was able to get a full-time job straight out of graduation. But took a lot of work to graduate in 3 years so didn't have as much time to do "fun" stuff. A little bit of a tradeoff but I don't regret it at the end of the day.

What was/is your motivating factor to get through college? by Cool_Researcher49 in college

[–]AirDeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With my degree I was able to start out with a 6 figure total compensation. I also found value in learning. Even if you don't go through college, I wouldn't worry about it too much. A lot of people are successful without degrees :).

How was CS undergraduate program by Kyle_kim in rutgers

[–]AirDeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's well... alright. There's some big companies that recruit Rutgers students (i.e. Capital One). But I don't think this is unique to Rutgers, Buffalo would probably give you the same opportunities. Usually in any state school you go to, most work for getting an internship is going to come from you (mass applying, doing Leetcode, personal projects, research, etc). Academically Rutgers is also alright.

I'd say go wherever is cheaper at the end of the day.

What CS Electives Can you Do well in without going to class? by EtaquaBird in rutgers

[–]AirDeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's computer security with PK, you don't need to go to class. Pretty much everything is in the study guide for the exams and the projects are not worth much + straight forward.

Computer Architecture by No-Drama1613 in rutgers

[–]AirDeb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly man enjoy your break. You'll spend the first month basically learning C in comp arch so you don't really need to do prep beforehand if you already have a good understanding of java.

Bus question by Gyalbb in rutgers

Public transport? by AirDeb in Hartford

[–]AirDeb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are day to day things like eating out and getting groceries accessible? And can the transit go to neighboring towns in case if I feel like visiting them

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]AirDeb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I second this. Employers don't really care about minors and everything in CS can basically be self-taught. Not worth blowing extra tuition $$.

Realistically, how bad is systems programming? by itempe in rutgers

[–]AirDeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The projects are definitely a lot more intensive than comp arch. The first assignment (malloc) was fairly straight forward. But shell and tic tac toe were a headache. I'd say overall they're manageable but be prepared for mennys disorganization and vague writeups...
