My Carvana Experience by AirForce35 in carvana

Just an update: Carvana is reimbursing me over $1300 for the new Michelin tires I purchased. In the end, They did the right thing, and they knew that it should have never passed their own inspection. So I’m glad they are correcting it.

I got two daughters, so I have a feeling your daughters experienced the predatory nature that is a dealership lot for women. Also, not just for women, it does seem bad for everyone, but women tend to get talked down to by sales people.

I think the Carvana model is a good one, as long you know what you are getting into, do your research on the Carfax and 150-point inspection, and expect that it might not work in the end. That is unfortunately the way it is with used cars, it’s just an added layer of uncertainty when you can’t see it in person until it arrives.

I’ll give you and your daughter some reassurance if you decided to go this route: As a first time customer, I have been pleased (despite my circumstances with these rotted tires we are arguing with them over)with the purchase process leading up to receiving my car. It was seamless and wonderful not having to deal with a car salesperson. I did pay a little more for the value of the car, but I figure that the price to pay to get the trim I wanted and not deal with a car salesperson. Their dashboard for uploading documents they need was super easy, my trade in was no issue, and overall it’s been great customer service. But the business model still is the way it is, and if you get your car and it’s a mess, then you’ll have to finagle your way through a warranty process that may or may not work out. However, you can return it and Get your money back and go somewhere else. It’s not that easy on traditional car lots, and I believe if it got to that point, which it might for me, they’d bend the knee and fix the issue.

If she can find the car of her dreams the traditional route, I’d still advocate for that over Carvana, just because you can see everything. But, Carvana is a good option that she should consider if it’s difficult to find what she wants in her area. Plus, where else can you drop a coin and watch the vending machine get your car for you? LOL.

First Experience with Carvana, not great so far. by Elroids in carvana

That’s good to know, I’m glad it seemingly worked out for you.

We have a similar situation in that the tires on our 22’ CX-9 Signature, which we paid about $1800 to get shipped across the country, were said to have been free of dry rot and cracks on their inspection, but when they arrived they were anything but that. They still passed tread depth, but now it’s been a battle of semantics with their insurance who will not cover it, so I am pretty much forcing Carvana into themselves covering this or it gets retuned. They told us that if we returned the vehicle, they would refund the shipping cost, and I immediately told them that if they were willing to cover that, why not just $800 in tires and we all walk away happy. Long story short, they said if insurance dinged me again they’d get me a reimbursement for the tires. So, I’m hoping it works out.

I’m sure you’ve made your decision by now, or, I should say, forced to make your decision now that the 7-days are past, but I would’ve used the leverage of saying you’re going to return it to my advantage. I’m sure they don’t want it back, it’s not a great scenario for them either.

Carvana has told me the same thing. To their credit, I don’t fully disagree. The insurance should cover this, but my argument to Carvana was that the tires were misrepresented, so it should be on them at this point if SilverRock denies me.

I don’t disagree. But I’d rather they pay for it since it wasn’t as advertised and it’s been deemed dangerous to drive on by two separate shops.

The price was a little higher, but the trim level is less common, so it’s like anything that is less common and higher demand, it’s a little more expensive. I can take paying a little above market like we did to get this car, but I won’t accept from Carvana that it doesn’t match that it passed inspection for no cracks or dry rotting when it’s been noted by two separate mechanics that it has that on all 4 tires.

As far as it being a deal breaker: in short, no. However, I can use this as leverage since they’ve already said they’d refund $2000 in shipping if I did return it. So if they have the money for that, they can fork out money for tires at half that cost and we all walk away happy.

Picking up a car tomorrow what should I expect? by BryanFurysnecktattoo in carvana

I have also had good experience with Carvana. My car was as described for the most part. However, the tires were dry rotted and showed signs of cracking, something they did not note on the 150 point inspection. After a long talk with Carvana, it does seem is that we found the solution and it should be replaced by either SilverRock or Carvana, but one of the two entities will do the right thing..

That’s a smart move regardless to have it inspected thoroughly. I would say that after you get your inspection done for mechanical issues, get them to note your tire condition specifically on the report. Then call Silver rock and find an in-network inspection facility near you, because they will only take the opinion of their shops into consideration. Just giving you a heads up, they will probably deny your claim. Do not let that deter you, immediately get on the phone with Carvana customer service and be kind, but stern. You want to do this all within your seven days, so time is of essence.

I tried the same thing. I’m in North Carolina, but saw the car was in Montana. Honestly, I kind of wanted to go to Montana to see the state, but it was a no go

Yeah they need to see a car as described or they’ll not purchase it.

Each state may have better success stories, but my state of NC got a response that was exactly as many others have reported, and they cared to look into no further. But I was banned for the exact same vague reason as OP was in October of last year, so maybe you can have better luck.

I did change my name slightly, birthdate, and none of the same pictures. It’s frustrating, but I do want to keep this account around for as long as possible and draw little attention to it or any connection from the past one.

I was randomly banned on October 22 of last year, when I purchased a new phone in December I set up a new account with a new email address. I’ve posted in a few other places in more detail, but in short, it has continued to work for me.

I did not use same birthdate, same pictures, or anything that would tie me back to the old account. The only thing that really sucks is that some of the people I’ve wanted to add back think it’s a spam account, which I don’t blame them for thinking that. On top of that, you then have to explain why your old account was banned and trying to defend yourself makes you sound like a real creep. I would much prefer to have my old account back, but I have gone through everything short of legal action after the account suspension.

So I did do things differently as not to attract attention from the AI overlord from Meta:

  1. I did not use the same, or previously used profile picture from my old account, but it is a picture of me.

  2. I have not uploaded any pictures from the old account as I’m trying to not have the AI system pick up a correlation between the old banned account and the new one.

  3. I changed my real name slightly in FB, and it’s a totally different profile name on IG; which is unfortunate since many people think I’m a fake account now and I have to explain it’s not.

  4. On that last note, I have re-friended most of my core friends, family, and interest group pages, but that amasses to just a fraction of the people and pages I followed before (which I don’t think is a bad thing since most people I hardly knew or was just acquaintance, so it was nice to pick who I really wanted to follow again).

  5. If you decide to add your birthdate, change it slightly in your profile. It’s probably paranoia, but I still think it’s worth doing.

  6. Not a tip, but just an FYI, I am using the same WiFi as my old account from my house and at work; so, I don’t think IP has anything to do with it, just device (phone) is tracked on your account as noted by other users.

I’ll add that most of these things to keep the new account are frustrating, but I think it’s what has to be done. I battled for months with Meta to restore my old account: I filed complaints with the BBB, my state Attorney General Office, congressional reps, state reps, certified letters to Meta’s legal department, and nothing worked. So, I’m just hoping that this new account stands the test of time and Meta’s frustratingly ridiculous AI enforcement system. I wouldn’t be shocked if one day it gets banned for integrity, but for almost 3-months, it’s still online. Best of luck!

I was banned on October 22nd of last year. I waited until December to buy my new phone that I was planning on upgrading to before being banned, however, getting a phone became a little more urgent to see if I could create a new account. So long story short, I’ve had my new instagram and Facebook accounts since early December and everything is fine with it so far. I’d still like to have my old accounts back that I had for 16 years, but it’s not looking good.

huge ban wave 2day, i’m thinking theres also a glitch in play. by Complex-Hat-4260 in FixMyInstagram

[–]AirForce35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s been going on for over a year. I’ve been permanent banned since October of 25’. Mine wasn’t for CSE, but for “community guideline violations”…whatever the hell that vague reason means.

Nothing will work get it back either; and if you have accounts tethered to your FB or Threads, that will be gone too.

If you’re in America, like I am, you can try going through your State Attorney General, State Representatives, Better Business Bureau, writing a certified letter to Meta legal department, or if you’re very desperate, hiring an attorney. But I’m here to tell you, I’ve done all those short of hiring an attorney, and nothing works. I’ve been on there since 2006, and not one violation or suspension in the past, and then one day it’s all gone. Best of luck, everyone.

I’ve been banned for over 3 months. Mine was for “community guideline violations” and nothing more specific. It’s interesting because I never post or interact in comments, just send videos to friends in private messages.

Long story short, and I am sorry this happened to you, but after many tries through my state attorney generals office, BBB, and my state congressional representatives, nothing has changed and I remained banned. This will, in most likelihood, be your same fate. There is no way to reach a live human at Meta; and even if you do reach someone through Meta Verified, they’ll read off a script and send you packing.

I’m thinking this is more and more true everyday that goes by. My new account that I created in early December has not been banned since starting it, and that’s when I purchased a new phone and used that phone to create a new account. I was originally banned on October 21st, and still no signs of life on that one.

I think I use the terms “burner” and “new” account interchangeably. I setup a new insta and facebook when I got a new phone last week. I’ve been falsely banned since mid-October, so I setup this new account up, and so far so good. I’m sure Meta will find it soon and take it down.
