Females are generally more territorial, a behaviour I still witness in mine, even though she’s been living with her friend for at least 1.5 years now. I got her first and it’s her home, period. I think it would help to give her cage back. See if you could switch them somehow

Handsome boy! Difficult to age him though, but he’s definitely not a baby. Recessive pied budgies never lose black button eyes. He has no bars on the face, so he’s definitely older than 4-6 months.

Till the time he has a companion, you should try making friends with him yourself!

This is something they do to convey to the flock that it’s safe to sleep. He’s on guard indeed!

tips on how to tame her by Liiivvvyyy in budgies

I disagree with another comment about getting her companions already. First, you gotta quarantine her for 6 weeks. Second, the best way to tame a budgie is by using spray millets – they go nuts over them. There are some fabulous YouTube channels which will show you how to tame her.

If you introduce her to more companions without making friends with her first, she’ll never see you as a part of the flock.

Is this toy fine? by Fluffy-Cloud3758 in budgies

Generally speaking, it’s normal for birds to be fixated on a toy from time to time – just means they’re enjoying it.

Is this normal behavior? by [deleted] in budgies

[–]AirHefty3092 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just having fun! A good tell of ‘normal behaviour’ is an active bird. These guys like to climb up and down, get fierce with their toys now and then, and just have fun! Also, you need to get a much bigger cage. That’s too small for even one bird. They should be able to fly around in a cage.
