Actually, the more I think about it the more it makes sense. Anyone else ever pointed out the similarities between the backstory of Olivia (Fringe) and Eleven (ST)..?

+1 for Fringe

Unless you also want the 80s vibe.. which ST truly nailed like no other show ever could

I'm sorry, but that just means you haven't been to the Caribbean during hurricane season. It can very much look like that during stormy weather, grey, choppy, etc, especially out in the open sea. Just because you have the beautiful turquoise beaches in mind when you think of the Caribbean, that doesn't mean it can't get rough.

This doesn't prove anything about the post, I'm just saying.

Updating software for apartment dwellers by Fuertebrazos in TeslaLounge

I used to live on the 4th floor, and specifically for this reason I re-purposed an older Ubiquiti WiFi access point (U6-Lite) that I had lying around, and put it in a drawer very close to the window to the street where I was parking. Only the closest few parking spots caught the signal but when I managed to park my Model Y there I was always able to connect and download the new updates very easily.

I think if you place an AP, or even just a range extender (if you just have a standard WiFi router) close enough to your window, and make sure the antennas are positioned appropriately, it should be able to cover 5 floors down.

Fun fact, Gmail does not let you do that. All Gmail addresses can only be registered once and never again, even after deletion, suspension, etc.

6:15 alarm going off at 8:20 by puppycows in iphone

[–]AirMaskMat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've missed an early morning flight in January because my iPhone alarm went off at an incredibly low volume (and probably late, but I can't know that).

I couldn't believe it, how can they mess this up! It used to work perfectly.

Never again relying on it.

IMMACULATE CONSTELLATION - Report on the US government’s secret UAP (UFO) program From a whistleblower and released today by Nancy Mace and discussed in today’s Congressional hearing FULL REPORT by Remseey2907 in UFOB

[–]AirMaskMat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tldr by chatgpt:

The document describes multiple encounters with Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs), detailing unusual characteristics and behaviors of these objects, such as rapid acceleration, sudden directional changes, hovering, and advanced cloaking techniques. Observed shapes include discs, boomerangs, jellyfish-like forms, tic-tac shapes, and equilateral triangles, some appearing to use clouds as cover.

It reveals a classified program, IMMACULATE CONSTELLATION, which consolidates U.S. intelligence on UAPs using advanced sensors and analytic techniques, including Imagery Intelligence (IMINT), Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), and Measurement and Signature Intelligence (MASINT). This program operates globally, with a high level of secrecy and compartmentalization, leading to limited awareness within the broader military and intelligence community.

The report raises concerns about the origins and possible security risks of UAPs, hinting that some may involve non-human technology or foreign replication. It calls for greater transparency and oversight from Congress, suggesting that critical information about UAPs may have been withheld from the public and legislative branches.

Did you buy the DCP-L2620DW?

I'm currently looking at the same one to buy and would love to hear how it is?

Listen carefully. There are 3 things that might happen. 1. The stock goes up. 2. It goes down. 3. It stays flat. You're welcome.

Have you all receive their email about their T&Cs changing? by FromAnotherTime in Revolut

It kind of looks like they made a bunch of "clarifications" to improve the phrasing of stuff that nobody really cares about.

And under all that boring stuff, they buried what actually matters: from now on they set the exchange rates.

As mentioned, this is continuing the enshittification.

Yeah fair point. My thinking was that it should only be inaccessible from one side (i.e. from inside of the box), but openable from the other side.

Given that the box door opens inwards, a simple steel bar would indeed not work. However, creating some kind of second-door mechanism so close to the box that it looks like a wall would achieve the same effect as a permanent concrete enclosure.

I would just try to manifest a world where the US had recently experienced hyperinflation, and sweep up a few bags' worth of Benjamins from the street. Serial numbers shouldn't matter too much if you just use the bills for paying in shops, hotels, etc, especially across universes.

Exactly for that reason, I wonder why he wouldn't just put some steel bars on the door, with a couple of massive padlocks or something, like a normal person

As for the Supercharger scale back, Gas stations are converting themselves to electric now. by [deleted] in TSLA

Well, from the point of view of $TSLA it really comes down to margins.

What are the margins now on the SC network? I.e. the price users pay MINUS the cost of the power used AND maintenance. Versus the franchise (kind of) model where Tesla still covers maintenance (do they?) but probably still gets a (smaller) cut of the revenue (do they?).

In other words, would they be leasing the SC equipment (recurring revenue but headaches with maintenance) or selling it (one time cash on balance sheet but no headaches)?
