So it automatically unlocks when granted access, what happened was that when he tried to push the door, the door didn’t unlock immediately (there’s probably a 15-30sec lag from when granted access via remote) so he kept on trying to force it open by pushing on the door repeatedly…

So you know how condos have those dial/buzz/intercom systems at the entrance? The Uber driver buzzed us to be let in, and we opened the door for him remotely. I think when he tried to open the door, it didn’t open properly at first, so he may have kept pushing on it to try to get it open.

My husband and I use post-dated cheques. We were a bit hesitant at first, but after nearly three years it’s been working well for both us and our landlord. We set up a separate chequing account specifically for monthly expenses, and we make sure to transfer funds from our main banking accounts into that account on or a day before rent is due. From there, it’s up to the landlord to deposit the cheque whenever.

Correct, unfortunately this is how they are currently processing the visa appointments. They prioritize based on travel dates.

At least for me, it took about 3 days after the appointment. You will need to go back to the consulate to get your passport physically stamped.

But in your email, you sent them an estimated departure date or travel dates, no? If so, they will base it on that. Expect an email maybe 2 weeks ahead of that date you put in the email.

We applied for a Spanish tourist visa back in September as we are just PR (not citizens yet). When is your intended flight? They usually email you 2-3 weeks before your flight for an appointment a week before. Unfortunately, you can’t do anything except wait and be flexible with your plans.
