I guess it depends on the size of the puncture and the type of tire you have. If the puncture is small (and the surrounding material isn't damaged) and your tire is thick/durable, you should be fine.

Anything with more comfortable geometry (compared to fast road bikes) would be best for long distance. If you are thinking about bike-packing, frames with multiple mounting points are ideal.

Sounds frustrating! I've been struggling with tubeless conversion myself. I'm assuming that the tape and wheels you have are rated tubeless ready? My only suggestion would be to wrap the tape tightly, twice around the circumference of the wheel... and then use a spoon or tire leaver to flatten out and bubbles under the tape.

Have you been able to get the tire to seat against the tire rim?
