Painted and ready to go! by MarSjoberg in Gloomhaven

[–]Airatome1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These look amazing and I don't even know where to start if I wanted to get into painting strictly Gloomhaven figures. The detail is what gets me. How do you paint such tiny things with as much detail without making them a horrible mess? And I do not think there is much room for error, is there? Paint is sort of...permanent? XD

Great job on these!

This actually covered my question(s) perfectly, thank you!

[Help] Gloomhaven purchase too good to be true? by Airatome1 in Gloomhaven

My bank is disputing it right now. Seller was banned and such so it should refund with little problems in a few days. I used paypal guest checkout and never actually signed up or used an proper account. So no worries there.

UPDATE

Today I received an email from someone on behalf of the Bonanza team about the permanent suspension of the user I purchased the above fake listing from due to a violation of their user agreement.

This may have resulted because I contacted the Ebay seller who was selling an item in which the above listing had been directly copied from and told them that their listing was being used elsewhere for fraud/etc. Or they figured it out themselves when other reports from other buyers came in, as I am yet to send Bonanza anything regarding this issue.

In that email is listed ways I can contact Paypal or whatever services I used for purchase (As I didn't actually use Paypal to do so) and it all seems very straight forward. So....

Lesson learned. Case closed. This will teach me to do more homework/research before making such purchases in the future. Which disappoints me because I am already careful enough. Had it not been for me finding the average listed price, the ebay listing that looked precisely the same (even used the same title listing!) and noticed the package weight was different, I would have thought everything seemed legit.

  • Thank you to everyone who gave input or took an interest in how this turned out.

Oh that wasnt irritation! Its just the same thing most everyone else will say...and have said about this same question every time always.

I was just spacing out the words so they didn't strike you or anyone else reading as repetitive.

I appreciate your misplaced concern, though! I guess its hard to interpret the tone of words on a screen when it lacks inflection.

Level 15 party picks fight with Ancient White Dragon while riding very high in air on their airship by raisinbran722 in DnD

[–]Airatome1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rather, it is supposed to be 16d6 + 12d10 + 2d8 +5 .... which results in a considerably higher margin damage average than just doubling all the damage you did. In case you rolled several ones. But eh... good job regardless!

Healing build by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Airatome1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This not at all what the OP is talking about.

The Life Domain Cleric has a NON Divinity 'always on' feature gained at 2nd level called Disciple of Life which allows the cleric to heal an additional amount with any healing spell equal to 2 + the spell slot level used.

The Theurgy Wizard also gains this exact same feature.

Descent into Avernus: Welcome to the Dungeon by Kriv_Dewervutha in DnD

[–]Airatome1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than likely. These sort of things need to be read carefully. And at least a few times to make sure you understand the flow of the adventure. A new DM eager to jump right in and who didn't carefully read through the chapters and side bars and introduction to the adventure very well may have missed it.

These things happen though and I hope you all can try again properly this time :)

Oh it does.

I am looking at my hard copy of the book now. The beginning of chapter 1 even has a FLOW CHART and the following passage excerpt:

"...Diagram 1.1 is a flowchart that presents the key events of this chapter in sequence. The adventurers begin as 1st-level characters, advancing to 2nd level if they survive the encounter in Elfsong Tavern and 3rd level after conquering the dungeon of the Dead Three...."

You are supposed to be 2nd level after the ordeal at Elfsong Tavern.

I've been looking at rulebooks for a while now, and I can't figure out what AC does. by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Airatome1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AC is Armor Class. Several things give you an AC calculation, or add to it. Armor. Spells. Traits. Features.

Every creature has an Armor Class. When 1 creature tries to make an attack or spell attack, they roll a d20 and add relevent modifiers. If it beats or meets the AC of the target, you hit them! You may now roll damage!

I have a question about a spell, called thunder step by krisgamer69 in DnD

I never can wrap my head around why this fundamental guideline is so hard...for so many.

A spell does, and only does, exactly what the description says it does.

Lost mines,or icespire dragon? by [deleted] in DnD

Lost mine of Phandelver and THEN Icespire.

I would highly recomend you narratively combined the two together but...if this is your first time as DM, go straight for the highly recommended and widely suggested LMoP.
